Thanks OP...good find...

Thank you farmcats.. in 4 1

Can I use it for my desktop? Thanks.

Does anyone still use these in their notebooks?

can't use for desktops. If you have a very old laptop I guess you would need this. But if you have and use that old of a laptop, havne't you already bought one or bought a USB adapter?

Just wondering who would still need this.

I need this.. the one to the laptop just stopped working. Thanks OP!

Pickup ONLY.

These are for laptops with PCMCIA (PC Card) slot.
Newer laptops tend to have ExpressCard slot and not PCMCIA slot.

However, these can be used in desktops with a PCMCIA-to-PCI adapter if you have a spare PCI slot.
Like this one or on ebay...
The better known brands would be more expensive (~20).

But a regular PCI wireless card could be bought for around $15 (for cheaper brands).
Netgear/Linksys/D-Link etc PCI cards usually cost quite a lot more.

BTW, this card also does "b" i.e. a+b+g per Netgear Product page.

Thanks OP. Got one. For a backup.
Haven't seen many of these cheap Wireless adapter deals after CompUSA closed.

How accurate is Fry's stock availability that you can see through their site? The stores around me show 0 availability but wondering if anybody had found 0 availability items anyways in their local stores in the past?
