I went to Lowe's today and discovered that they are discontinuing the Woodgate finished maple cabinets in favor of another color which hasn't arrived. In the meantime, they have taken 30% off the sticker price (YMMV, according to the clerk, this can vary by store), and through the 15th or thereabouts, there's an ADDITIONAL 15% off all in-stock cabinets. Throw in a 10% mover's coupon or 10% Military discount, and this is quite a good deal. The cabinets are solid wood face frame and doors with particle board/MDF (unsure which) sides. The finish is fairly light/blond.

I priced our kitchen out at approximately $1000. Still debating whether we want to do it or not.

Here's a link to a base cabinet as an example.

Yeah , whatever happened to those movers envelops ? They're not available anymore here in NV . I asked the clerk at the counter and he said they are taking them off . The moving stuff ( change of address , etc. ) should be available online only . Anybody else had the same problem ?

I noticed that they weren't at my local post office either, but they have only been sporadically available there so I'm not sure.

Try asking the postal worker behind the counter. Thaey probably keep them back there to prevent FW"ers from swiping the whole pile at once.

PM me if you would consider maple shaker style in natural and live in the PNW (between Vancouver, BC & Portland, OR). I'm ordering a container from China and the quality is fantastic (beautiful maple doors, slow close drawers, soft close hinges, frameless, 3/4" plywood boxes finished on both sides) and the price is 30% of retail (NOT 30% off, but 70% off)...

.

i can def concur that idea. though lowes/Home Depot does sell quality stuff and reasonable price, if you are looking to get custom kitchen, and have supplier/contractor who have access to cabinet from asia, that would be another option to consider. few yrs ago we started looking at maple kitchen, and ended with cherry wood, ALL WOOD, no particle board stuff, with 1" METAL gliding rails on the sides all within our budget

Eventually, we'll be looking at cabinetry. What kinds of prices are you talking about with these places from China, say for a 36" base cabinet?

Which Lowes has the Maple fisnished cabinets that you are talking about. I have been to to the Bellbrook and Xenia stores looking for two Maple finished cabinets and neither one have the cabinets.

What stores around are selling these? I was looking at the Bellbrook and Xenia stores for these and they don't carry them.

I went to two here in Maryland, but you can check online -- look for the Woodgate brand with your zip code entered. I noticed that they aren't stocked in Ruckersville, VA, either (where I was for business a little while ago).
