Note. You can pick to either get double base points upto a maximum of 75000 points, or 25000 points as double points. By my math, you would need to spend over 1250 $ at the hampton this year to make it a better deal than taking the 25000, which for 99.5 percent of you is the better option. True road warriors would need to look at the calender. As most of my stays are cheap hamptons, i would need 16 stays to make that a better deal.

do they still let you accumulate points for those stays if you sign up for the 25k promotion ???
This may be hot!
yes, this would be in addition to the other points you can get
You should get these in addition to the other types of points that you are eligible to get, below is a shot of a recent stay, showing base points, bonus points, vip points, and my way preferences. I have selected points plus points, and the my way as the 250 point bonus.
on 4 stays you should get to 30k
Base Points - hampton inn xxxxxx 845 points -Sep-2009 50% BONUS ON BASE POINTS - hampton inn xxxxxx 422 points -Sep-2009 DIAMOND VIP BONUS - 50% 2009 - hampton inn xxxxxx 422 points -Sep-2009 MYWAY PREFERENCES BONUS OPTION - hampton inn xxxxxx 250 points -Sep-2009
a regular member would get 1517 points for a 1 night stay at this hotel with a room rate of 85$

Probably not, but that doesn't stop you from booking 4 stays at the same hotel night after night. Might be a hassle checking out at 11, taking everything out, and checking back in at 3...

I dont think their system lets it work that way. I am on the road due constantly to the job, and we use hilton chain heavily. It's a somewhat common occurance for us to check out in the morning to move on to the next place, something changes between checking out and flying out, and we end up heading right back to the hotel for another night or 2. Every time this has happened, the end result is always checkout being undone and stay simply extended vs being like seperate stays. Never have asked them to do it one way or the other, so maybe they could do it up if you asked, but that appears to be how things work by default if you check out just to check back in.

I think your math is incorrect - double base points implies you get 2 times base points e.g: if you usually get 1,000 points, with this promo you will get a total of 2,000 points total.
To make more of the double points deal, you need to spend more than $2,500 at the hampton inn. Unlikely - almost have to stay there for a month.

I received an e-mail this morning that they were increasing the number of points for a free night booked after 1/14/10. I believe it only affected Cat 1 - 3 hotels (Cat 1 went from 7,500 > 10,000 etc.).
any true road warriors out there? I am told that you can do this deal upto 3 times, which would give you the same 75k points as the max if you had selected the double base points. ymmv
