I noticed Staples $50 Gift Card offer. So I checked with Amazaon.com for its price and it shows $299.95. I called Staples.com and asked for price match with Amazon.com. Here is how it goes...
$349.99 <- Staples.com price $299.95 <- After price match with Amazon.com $274.95 <- After $25 off $75 e-junkie coupon $17.00 <- Tax -------------------------------------------- $292.13 <- Total before GC rebate $50 <- Staples $50 Gift card -------------------------------------------- $242.00 <- Total after rebate
If you are lucky, you will get the exact price match. Else they will add 2 days shipping which would bring the price to $299.95 + $6 (shipping). Good luck!!!!!
Still a good camera, particularly at that price point. It's zooming vid competitor is the Lumix zS3, although the zS3 lacks manual shot, and I believe, this Canon has RAW. Both have HDMI and both do 720p, although Pana has newer avchd lite codec. Also the Pana has Exposure Bracketing whereas the Canon does not.
I have the Lumix, but would have seriously considered this had I seen it.

Not true!
I have this camera and you can do optical zoom in video mode. I read the same incorrect comment from many sites and I just want to clarify the wrong info.
