ThinkGeek's April Fool's Day prank was a TaunTaun sleeping bag... which they didn't actually make. Well, there's been enough interest that they are indeed producing said sleeping bag. It should be available by early November.
Edit: Just got the email last night the TaunTaun sleeping bag is now available for pre-order, here. Selling price is $99.99.
* Classic Star Wars sleeping bag simulates the warmth of a Tauntaun carcass * Built-in embroidered Tauntaun head pillow * Plush Lightsaber zipper pull * Great for playing pretend "Save Luke from the Wampa" games * Teach your children about the best Star Wars movie ever * Fully Licensed Lucasfilm™ Collectable * Enough room for adults, plenty of space for kids * 100% Polyester construction, Machine washable * Bag Dimensions - 33" x 67" (not including head pillow or legs)
Now you (or more likely the kids) can really sleep inside a split tauntaun! C'mon, even if you're not a Star Wars fan, this is just freakin' cool! I so need this for the next convention I attend....

"We're excited to finally offer Tauntaun pre-orders through our site, and you may want to act fast because quantities are limited. In fact, we're asking that you keep your fanaticism in check and order a maximum of 2 Tauntauns per customer.
Pre-order your Tauntaun before the herd thins out!
If you pre-order more than 2, we cannot guarantee that a cloaked figure weilding a lightsaber will not appear on your doorstep. Understand? *Jedi hand wave* Excellent."
No, for the average consumer, this is far from hot. The Star Wars geeks, however, could be a whole 'nother matter.
Since I haven't seen it IRL, I can't say anything about the quality, so based on the little that is known, I commend your concern. ThinkGeek is responsible for creating this and is (unfortunately) the only place it's available. And apparently (according to ThinkGeek's site) quantities are limited (to what I wish I knew...).
From the tauntaun page on ThinkGeek: "Shipping Information: We're accepting orders on the first shipment of the Tauntaun sleeping bag right now! Quantities are limited! PREORDER NOW, and your sleeping bag will ship by November 30th."
It does show up as "Out Of Stock", which I do not believe has been changed since they first posted he pre-order info. It's supposed to be a pre-order... did it give you issues?
