daughter is schoolteacher and just bought this a couple months ago for her classroom- is happy with quality but really needed a duplexer (to save paper) and she says the paper seems to jam often when she re-inserts to print on the backside- but toner is CHEAP! You can google and find 4 2500pg remans for $75 shipped! Cheap to own...
it will prone to jam if the machine is not a duplexer and you feed in papers that have already printed. I just bought the MF4370 from Staples for $180 with a 10% off coupon last Sat, it has all the same features as this and can do duplex and network ready. its good so far, scanning over network sucks thou.

I think it also depends on the quality of the paper used!

We bought it from Buy.com for about $86 with free shipping 1 year ago. It was great deal back then and still is. Great value for Canon MF printer. We printed well over 1000 pages but it is still running on original toner cartridge! It does jam paper occasionally but not often. I wish it had automatic duplex printing. Also, I have scanned lots of documents, book chapters in PDF format, normally at 300 dpi. Good scan quality, nice Canon software!
I have 2 other Canon printers at home - Canon PIXMA iP3000 (true working horse with automatic duplex printing!) and Canon 3-in-1 MP160. Had Canon copier PC170, which was great too but gave it away as a gift because we have too many printers at home.
Had Canon digital cameras - A95, A620, A540... Canon CanoScan LIDE 35 scanner. Other Canon laser printer LBP 2900, made for Europe and other regions. Love Canon printers, scanners, and cameras!
