Fairly cheap for the default graphic card, backlit keyboard, and resolution.

Memory, CPU, and hard drive upgrades are overpriced, but you can always upgrade it yourself.

Shipping is around $90. Tax in many areas.

Higher decent cards & processors on the laptops add several hundred for each. But for the quickship desktop, seems $800 for Alienware cooling system, 512mb crossfire cards & hi end quad core seems ok, though refurb. Any thoughts? Im looking for a preferably i7 desktop. But are Alienware refurbs ok?

HD 3870's are already very powerful. With the M17 it only costs $200 extra to get crossfire.

I would be all over this if it wasn't for shipping. After shipping and tax it came out to almost $900 without upgrades.

$937.68 including tax/shipping for me. No dice (for now).
