Hey fellow FWer's! I just received $10/month off my bill by adding my Verizon Wireless account to my Triple Play (found out from a VZ Rep on dsl reports). Not sure if this is available everywhere. I tried to add it through Steve the myfiosguy.com rep but he can only add the wireless part for new customers. He did say that next week the rebates go to $375 for triple.

edit: apparently I misheard the explanation and the rebate total is actually $375

Wow, $355 rebate for triple play? The highest it's been have been $150 rebate, $30x6 months credit = $180, or that netbook offer.

I wonder if I can get the $10/mth credit if Verizon Wireless is already on my Triple Play bill. That's all it is...combining the bills, right?

watch out for Verizons overbilling. They got sued in several states attorney generals because of their billing practices.

OOPs... I misheard Steve, it is actually $375 for a triple play.

if you get a triple play the rebate is $180 ($30x 6 months via a credit to your bill) + $120 ($10 credit for 12 months) + $75 myfiosguy rebate = $375

Just called FIOS to renew my bundle for a year. I haggled a $5 monthly credit and a $15.99 monthly credit for a second DVR, then added my Verizon Wireless bill to the bundle (Quad Play) for an additional $14.99 monthly credit.

The full details are here:

http://www22.verizon.com/Residential/HighSpeedInternet/WirelessL...

It's only available on the east coast for now (list of states on that page).

I signed up for it but it is only going ot be effective 12/10 for me because I am still in my $30/mo discount for the first 6 months. if I switched now I'd lose that $30 so it makes no sense at this point. I had to extend my contract but I am happy with FiOS so it's not a big deal. I upgraded to the $109.99 plan that gives me 35/25 and Showtime.

The rep suggested signing up now with the future date because it's possible they could pull the offer and not have it available for signing up in December. I can always change it if a better offer comes along before then.

BTW the title of this thread should be made clearer, or someone should start a new thread for current customers.

I negotiated a new 1 yr contract, 2 yr price lock with internet speed of 25/15 for their triple play.

Here are the credits I was able to get.
$15 credit a month for life of merged fios and vz wireless accounts.
$59.97 lump sum credit for multi room dvr (bottom of my most recent bill said to call for 3 months free of this)
$5.99 credit a month for a year - just because?
90 days free HBO/SkinaMax free

In all, I break out even since I had a free multi room dvr box for a yr when I first signed up. The $15 + $5.99 credits wll cover it this year. They wouldn't budge on giving credit for a box straight out. I tried and called 3 times. TVI will never go back to cable. Their HD TV and menus just aren't the same.

Does anyone know how to get around having a box on all non-HD tvs? The free digital converter boxes don't work and qam tuners seem very expensive.

I assume you mean the $40 digital converter boxes. Those are for over-the-air TV, not cable (surely you must have known this already).

You can get something they call a "digital adapter" from Verizon which is a dumb set-top box which costs $3.99 per month vs $5.99 for the normal STB.

I am going to have to check my bill and/or call Verizon again because I was told that the DVR credit was only for new DVR customers.

They're a reseller who'll give you a small cut of their commission (in the form of a gift card) on top of a cable/phone company's promotional offer. If you're not the kind to negotiate, you'll come out ahead slightly with such a reseller. But I got a better deal by negotiating with Verizon directly than what the reseller could offer me.
