I see, it's just a GorillaPod knockoff.

For point of reference, it's $14.99 at Amazon.

sorry to TC, but I've always wanted (and never looked for) a sort of monopod. Essentially an antenna type device that you insert into the bottom of a camera. It could extend from say 6 inches to 6 feet? I always thought that would be better than a tripod, cause i normally have 2 hands to steady the camera, i just need something to act as the 3 part. Any thoughts?

this is pretty cool

Thought this was going to be a new spin on the Gorilla with "Electronic" octopus tenacles.

Really?... name your company Q:ELECTRONICS? The damn thing doesn't even take a battery...

A couple of years ago I did some testing of a cable / chain monopod. Turned off all the lights in a bathroom, shot photos of point-like reflections off the towel holder with a stablilized telephoto lens. The results were that the monopod photos were no sharper than the hand-held photos.

I was surprised at this result. It turned out that the movement of the chain monopod was apparently caused by vibrations of the chain itself, like strumming a guitar string.

Can't vouch for the quality since I don't have one, but DealExtreme has a gorillapod knockoff for $4.89. Personally, if I'm getting a knockoff in the first place, I'd like it to be as cheap a knockoff as possible
