Right. The amount of mercury in a CFL is measured in nanograms. Even if you absolutely smash the heck out of one its not that tough to get most of it up.

Of course, I used to play with mercury when I was a kid so I might have brain damage and not know what i'm talking about

I wonder why people didnt worry much about these when we had 40"+ tubes in all of our kitchens, laundry rooms, garages and workplaces. We had a bunch of them turn up defective at the hardware store I worked at and we spent half an hour throwing them like spears into the dumpster out back.

Use less efficient bulbs so that we end up needing nuclear power plants in our backyard to accomodate for the drain on the power grid? Yes, that's going to produce LESS toxic waste right?


Hey during the winter, incandescents are 100% efficient
