Snag one. Thanks OP

What's the difference between the RCR-IC002 and the RCR-IC001? I have the '01 model.

The RCR-IC002 is 74 in 1 and the RCR-IC001 is 6 in 1 from what I have read.

Pitiful. The exact same thing with plastic instead of metal casing (and no rosewill logo) is <$4 shipped from eBay.

With so many knockoffs of the same thing out there, it's worth paying a few bucks for one that has a bunch of reviews. I've had so many problems with cheap card readers, I'd pay more for less hassle and data loss.

Besides, the one's you're seeing on eBay are probably non-SDHC ones.

Looks like with available driver this works fine with Windows 7. Drives only show up when media is inserted. Nice.

Heh, it's hard to get me mad. I've purchased probably 30 of these in the past year. Two have been defective. They are cheap quality, and I regularly have to drill new holes in their plastic casing, but the price difference is too great to ignore. I'd rather pay 1/3 the price and have 2 out of 30 fail on me than pay Rosewill to import and test them for me. My clients love little extras like this that I include "free" of charge on their computer builds (Trust me, they're paying for it!). I just can't rationalize spending more than 3x the price, especially for a deal here on fatwallet!

That's why I had to give this deal red. Now if you'll excuse me, I haven't had my daily ration of green (spinach).

EDIT: Oh yeah, when I said these are exactly the same as the cheap Chinese nockoffs, I really mean it. They are EXACTLY the same internally, it's just Rosewill puts it in a metal casing instead of just plastic.

But this one also has mostly bad reviews on Newegg. And every time the deal is posted, some people on FW report having problems with it. I'd guess Rosewill is getting the same cheap Chinese reader that everyone else sells.
Between card readers of this type, and the IDE/SATA to USB adapters, I can't figure out why there don't seem to be any that are reliable.
