Just bought a new Belkin N router, so perfect timing for a couple of starter N cards, with a good price. Thank OP!! In for 2!

Make sure you have a PC card slot. Most new laptops now come with express card slot.

pc card = pci
express card =(duh) pci express based.

you can adapt expresscard to run pc card with an adapter but eh why?

Belkin is a lousy brand- bad drivers and bad build quality. Considering how infamously unreliable wireless is anyway, don't add to the headaches by cheaping out. Get something with better reviews, maybe a Linksys (but read the reviews for any particular model) and you'll have a better chance of not having problems. If it saves you even a few hours of troubleshooting, paying more is a bargain when you consider the value of your time- and wireless problems can often be many more hours than that.

As a network engineer, I have had plenty of experience setting up wireless networks for customers and family. Out of all of the most notable wireless brands (Linksys, Netgear, Belkin, D-Link, etc.) Belkin is by far my favorite so far. They aren't always the fastest and they don't always have the best range, but when it comes to wanting something with a reliable signal, relatively easy set-up, and something easy for the consumer to get in and tweak, I always go with Belkin. I've never had any major issues with one, which I can not say the same for Netgear and D-link. I do not consider buying a Belkin "cheaping out". I consider it going with what I know.

DEAD -- price is now $59.99
