With the Ooma moving to the Telo model, the old hub and scout version is being phased out. Yet to be verified but it appears that the old version may get grandfathered in with no recovery fee charge. If Ooma forum rumors are correct, the old models will be best bang for the buck so get them before it's all gone. See Ooma forum for latest rumors. Even if there will be a fee, it's less than $1/month after the first year. I won't waste time arguing about if this is worse or better than telo, or other VOIP. It's free (or $1/month after the first year at worst). All I want is free service. This works on my parents cable and at my house with 3G (270-350kbs download and 96-120kbs upload).
Here's the method... 1) Bing.com and search Dell (get 10% off from Bing CashBack link). Once on Dell's website, click on the right for Dell Small Business...SMALL BUSINESS.
2) Ooma $229.99 (A2373281 with free shipping) -20% coupon (5Q8VM9FP3VV$3D).
Here's the math... $230 - $46 (Dell coupon 20%) - $18 (Bing 10%) + $6 (tax of course) ~ $172 (final price, YMMV with tax).
Hope people who are on the fence find this helpful. And no, I don't suspect it's like Sunrocket as it's in more outlet then Sunrocket was ever in but only time will tell:shake:
I pulled the trigger on an Ooma Hub+Scout from Best Buy over the weekend; with the 10% off coupon, it came to right around $200. I was worried the Hub+Scout deals were all gone, and I definitely wanted to get one as it appears to be a better bet than the Telo. Wish I'd held out a couple of extra days!

For some reason the coupon code is not working, has anyone else had a problem with it? OP, have you tried the code? Great deal if i can make it work. Thanks so much.

I think I figured it out. The coupon code shows "5Q8VM9FP3VVD" but when you copy and paste with auto link it shows as "5Q8VM9FP3VV$3D", with the later being the correct one.

Correct coupon code: 5Q8VM9FP3VV$3D
Thank you. That code works. I am just about convinced to pull the trigger now. Hope they last a year or so.
i bought an ooma from Dell not long ago. i used a 15% off coupon and got 15% bing CashBack (yes, it worked). i was able to get free overnight shipping with it. i found it cheaper at Amazon and called Dell to cancel my order and told them I found it cheaper. . they offered me $20 more off if i kept the order with them. i did. i ended up getting it for around $160. try to call them to cancel and they may give you a $20 credit.

How long did it take after you ordered before you got Bing Cash Back notification?

Where did you get the 15% off coupon for Dell? Thanks
Isn't this only useful if you really like the regular handset at home idea?? I have not done too much research but have seen folks talking about google voice and installing apps. on their cellphones to get voip. Can someone explain why dropping $170 on this is still a good deal? Someone that has researched all the options/costs that is.

I want to comment that the service is guaranteed to be free for the first three years, after that Ooma can charge whatever they wish.
While the Dell pricing is a fabulous price, I would point out to people with Costco (or friends/family members) membership and if the product is available to buy from Costco -- after the three years, if Ooma start charging $200/yr or something, you can return to Costco.
I am on the fence on this deal. Can someone explain why I should jump on this vs. going with PhonePower . PhonePower has a deal for $199 for 2 years ($239 for 2 years after adding regulatory fees and shipping).
OOMA/Scout deal will cost me about $180 after Bing rebates and another annual $99 for Premier service --- totally $279.00 for the first year or $368 for 2 years.
Does OOMA provide that much better voice quality for the price premium?
Yeah, except what does Costco cost a year? PLUS the unit costs more there.
IF it works, even at $196 (if Bing turns to crap) -- it is around $5 a month for VOIP that is supposedly stable. If after 3 years they burn us, and make it no longer free, I'll take it and throw it in the garbage.
If it isn't stable, I'll return it and get my money back.

I am the same way, confused about this. I want to buy this, its a great deal from Dell. Same issues about the future though. Confused between Ooma or VOIPo for $135 for a year with taxes. I will decide today, one way or the other.
Does this phone support DTMF (dual-tone multi-frequency) that allows me to enter numbers from the phone's keypad when I am asked to enter selection by number?

Do you have to activate it right away to stay grandfathered in?
I would like to get one for future use probably 6 months or so from now (location uncertain since I will be moving).

From what I read it is not supposed to work for the ooma Core but I have come across at least 1 person who said it worked for him. It is supposed to be supported for the Telo.

I'm not sure why you would wait to activate it if you buy it now. The service operates independently of your location and you can update your address any time via My Ooma. They only use your address for e911 purposes.

Agree with below. This is not suppose to support DTMF but I have no problems with dial tone when checking my phone's built in answering machine (not the Ooma voicemail). Not a problem with incoming or outgoing dial tone. This works with the one at my parent's house and at my home. This third one is a gift for my brother.

I am living with relatives at the moment and am buying it to lock in the terms. My phone is taken care of now, but I will probably be moving to another state so it would be a totally different unknown area code.
I would also like to keep the option of giving it as a future gift instead. The fact there are no future fees makes this possible (can't give a gift that would cost them $).
So if I can keep it unopened for awhile that would be great!

Win-Win.
If I get Bing money it is even less a month.
Some questions:
1) With this equipment can I hookup other phones like with a traditional VOIP with an ATA (such as a Linksys PAP2 or similar) by using my existing phone jacks/wiring in my house. 2) Am I grandfathered with features such as voicemail, call forwarding, 3-way calling or is Ooma going to nickle and dime me for these basic features? 3) I assume that we still will owe some yearly taxes/fees as long as I use the equipment, right?

thanks Ahh, makes sense now.

-d Where did you see the info about 3 years of service. Did I miss or overlook something?

Thanks in advance for any feedback you may have. 1. Yes 2. Yes you are grandfathered though I'm not sure about 3-way. The info that came with my Core bundle from WalMart shows that to be a premium feature. 3. No. As long as you buy an old Core bundle you are grandfathered in under the old terms which means no recovery fees.
in for one - and I have never heard of this company until this post - was looking to dump my overpriced VOIP phone service via comcast but hadn't gotten around to it until today. Looks like only hidden cost is $40 to port your existing number - unless you sign up for their premier service $99/year (for old equipment users - I think we qualify?) they will waive the $40 charge. premier has a lot of features including automatic 2nd line which might be worth it alone and call id blacklist another cool feature.
now I have to find a modem so I can get rid of that monthly expense as well - anyone got a good deal on a comcast compatible modem let me know
