"No registration code is required. Just download it and backup your DVDs right away. This 45 days giveaway of WinX DVD Ripper Platinum is an exclusive offer to Techweenies readers."

Wrong! Downloaded and it asks for registration code! (well, unless I screwed up somewhere! )

so how come it won't work for more than "five minutes" until I pay $19.99 ?

Just make sure the file you download is named winx-dvd-ripper-pt-full-oct.exe - worked fine for me without code or time limits.

"The giveaway of WinX DVD Ripper Platinum has expired on 12:00am GMT Otc. 1st. If you are looking for a free solution to rip your DVDs, its free edition WinX DVD Ripper would be a good alternative. What's more, we provide those who missed the giveaway a special offer to purchase WinX DVD Ripper Platinum. The original price is $24.95, but now it is $19.95 only"

Either the deal isn't live yet or something got messed up. The link on Techweenies.com shows the same thing.

the one on the download page links to winx-dvd-ripper-pt-full.exe. I manually changed it to winx-dvd-ripper-pt-full-oct.exe. Will see how that goes

Same for me. I've successfully converted two movies - no codes needed. In the About box, it shows as "Special Edition".

Thanks, OP.

Link to full

Just change the shortcut to point to full. Above link works for it.

Same version as last time v5.1.1
Same md5 checksum: f4b64883ddb282a4f5ba39586d332d5a

The part that I don't like about this program is that the DVD rom has to be running the whole time during the entire encoding process. Unlike ripping it from the disc first then encoding.

Is this better than DVD shrink?

I have been using this to rip movies to stream to my 360, works great
