addinson said: TY. Love his stuff. Still hoping to see him perform live. Addison, Tom Waits is just incredible ((LIVE))! If you love his unique, dark talent, you are in for a treat to see him live where, in the tradition of every performance artist worth his/her salt (think KD Lang, and of course the legendary Neil Young) he shares nothing less than his very humanity. Waits' performing style is above all intimate: you feel he is performing for you alone. A towering talent, much under appreciated imho with a style that is authentically unique. How many performers can you say that about these days? Joni Mitchell. Prince. There are others of course, but Waits is worth the fare for good seats if you can get them. Many years ago I went with some friends to see Waits perform at SF's legendary Warfield theatre and I can still remember the performance, the old upright piano, the stage set, his accordian, his hat . . . and the speechlessness of the four of us walking out of that theatre. A thinking person's artist, and beloved to many of us.
Don't go to church on Sunday Don't get on my knees to pray Don't memorize the books of the Bible I got my own special way I know Jesus loves me Maybe just a little bit more I fall down on my knees every Sunday At Zerelda Lee's candy store Well it's got to be a chocolate Jesus Make me feel good inside Got to be a chocolate Jesus Keep me satisfied...
