Deep Discount has a vast selection of Robert Kirkman's acclaimed graphic novel series "The Walking Dead" for sale. With the coupon code "23057", you can buy one graphic novel and get another of equal or lesser price free!
The sale includes volumes 1-10 for prices starting at $7.99, and books 1-4 starting at $22.49. Most of the prices are fairly competitive with free shipping added in, but it's the B1G1 free which really makes this deal hot.

Well, comic cons only happen so often, and even if you are an active con-goer, you have to brave Black Friday-worthy crowds to find what you are looking. I prefer the online method personally.

Really amazing series. My wife and I both read trades 1-4 without stopping. Can't recommend enough even if you aren't a big zombie guy. If you have 1% interest in zombies get these. Trade 1 has some of the best comic book art I've ever seen and the guy that goes from trade 2 I learned to like a lot also.
I'm guessing the books are Hardcover and usually contain more issues. I think the trades (volumes) are about 6 issues each so I'm guessing the hardcover (books) are about 12.
It's a little hard to figure out how many issues you get in each "volume". I'm guessing it varies, since the page count for each volume varies also.
The four hardcover "books" are a little easier to figure out---those are 12 issues apiece. Just for comparison, the last book on that list---the soft-cover Compendium---has 48 issues of the series, and so is equivalent to Books 1-4, but in paperback instead of hardcover.
Julia24 said:Woah, this is a steal. A whole collection of books for only $23 Technically, it's only a couple of books for $23.
Buying all 4 books will set you back $48.73. That's $0.74 more than the Compendium, but the books are hardcover Vs. the paperback Compendium, and the Compendium seems like it might be a bit unwieldy at 1088 pages. So if you only need one copy off all the issues, I'd go with the books.

Except that you can get the Compendium for significantly less---eg., ~$32 (not counting FatCash, Bing, etc) at Buy.com (currently backordered).
One other issue with the Compendium is, like the books---it is an unfinished work. Apparently Book 5 is due out in January. Who knows when (or if) another Compendium will show up.
Not trying to nit-pick, but in the cart, the price for the 4 books is $44.98, not $48.73. One of the books is mis-priced @ $26 on the OP's landing page, but the correct price shows up in the cart. Incidentally, Books 1 and 2 are now showing as backordered.
Also, not part of this sale, but there are limited edition "Omnibus" hardcover editions that collect 12 issues each: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Walking_Dead#Collected_editions
Just FYI---looks like the first Omnibus is not widely available; the second one is ~$62 at Buy.com right now.
I have been waiting to buy the Compendium for some time but the individual volumes are a much better deal if you want the whole series. Each book has six issues, so you get 60 issues at less than a dollar each. If you want a good explanation of what comes in each book go here: Text.

I didn't include the Compendium in the deal because I knew it was a better deal at Buy.com. Still, if you're already a Walking Dead fan and you wanted certain graphic novels, this might be a better deal with the B1G1 nature. The Wiki link marsilies posted shows what's collected in each volume/book.
If you bought 2 copies of the Compendium (assuming there is a taker for the 2nd one), then it comes off as the best deal at only half the price of the books and trades.
Reason I went with the books is for their hardcovers. I don't trust a trade of 1000+pages will last through a couple sessions of reading before it starts falling apart.
I just tried the customer service route, and the deal is over. It's a bummer, because I know that the original Deep Discount Walking Dead sale page said that the coupon code was good until the 31st, because I wrote it on my calendar.
