I'm sure this rebate program eliminates most people, since there are few who register their cameras with Canon. That's the catch you have to own and registered your camera before October 12thand purchase one of the new models. Nice rebate OP and if any members actually qualify please post it would be interesting to see how many people actually registered there camera before the stated deadline

Crud, bought a rebel a few weeks ago but didn't register. Maybe I will try the mail in idea and see what they say...
The rebate form specifically states that you must have registered before Oct 12 to qualify.
I actually registered all of my Canon cameras (2 DSLRs, a PS and a G5). I'm pretty good about keeping receipts, but figured I spent enough $$$$ that I wanted to make sure there would be no problems if I needed to send any of them in for service.
There are many more Canon models eligible for the rebate, which are listed on the rebate form. Looks like nearly every EOS and PowerShot model manufactured in the last 5+ years.
IMHO, it's not much of a rebate, for example, 4% off the $500 PS G11 camera I'm looking at. On the other hand, for one of the lower priced PS cameras, the rebate starts to look pretty good.

I sent my Canon 5d in for a cleaning to the Irvine Repair Center. I had to provide a copy of my receipt and fill out some forms, I wonder if my camera is now registered. I never sent in the little postcard though. I hope it is because I would like to use the $50 rebate on the new s90.

if you make a purchase and it's legit - highly doubt Canon would be arguing over $20 or $50 rebate !!!

Friend of mine bought a Powershot on the 11th and obviously couldn't register it while it was in the mail...how stupid.
