Shipping does kill a deal indeed. If you have a store nearby to pick up from, then it is a good deal. But I'm not sure about the cooler's performance. Can anyone provide an opinion beyond user reviews from Amazon? The cooler itself has below average reviews on Amazon. Link
For your information, Antec Black Notebook Cooler will beat most, if not all laptop coolers in performance. It has aluminum top and 2 fans that suck hot air away from laptop's bottom. Keep it running for 20-30 minutes and put you hand on Antec Black cooler's aluminum top - you can feel how really cold it is! I was impressed. In my opinion, Antec Black Notebook Cooler is the best laptop cooler. Frys had this Antec Black cooler last year for $10 with free shipping! Too bad that limit was 1 per address. Watch for its price dynamics, it might be offered again at such a bargain price on either Black Friday or around the end of year. Link
Even if you have nothing else to buy and have to pay $7 shipping for this, it sounds like $12 with shipping is still a pretty good deal if you need a notebook cooler, since this sounds like one of the better ones? Usually there is at least one freebie from fry's that I also want, and the total shipping of two or more items is usually pretty reasonable.
