this is perhaps the best price on 2 channel (2 sticks) ddr2 desktop memory lately... pricing being bad

These are a 2x1GB DDR2-800C4 Kit for $30 +TAX +SH.

I think that is standard price and I would go at least

2 x 2GB. Similar LINK

This is actually a really good price on 2x 1GB Dual Channel PC2-6400 memory. I have been searching around for the last two days trying to find a decent price and this one beats them all by a long shot - at least for having heat spreaders! I ordered 3 of these even before I found this post. Great deal.

Most people want 2GB X 2 sticks instead of 1GB X 2. I already have all four slots filled with 1GB sticks, so I can't increase my RAM with Windows 7 64bit without getting bigger size sticks.

I am searching for 2x1GB pc2-5300 but I couldn't find cheaper than this one. So, I am wondering if I can use this pc-6400 instead. And if I can, will it provide the same performance as th pc-5300.

Yes, 6400 is backwards compatible with 5300. If the ram on you mobo maxes out at 5300, it'll just down-clock the 6400.

okay I found an eCrater listing for $30 pair of Crucial Ballistix shipped, already received and installed a pair and placed an order for a second, when I bought the second it says seller only has 1 qty but the listing is still there after payment cleared. I wasn't sure if there is anything against auction type listing for FW forum tho?
