These seem to be 800mAh batteries, which are a horrible rip-off at almost any price. The average AA rechargeable these days are between 2000-2600mAh and cost just a dollar or two more per 4 pack. 800mAh wont last as long, especially in high drain devices, need to be recharged more often and therefore have a much shorter life span.

And you obtained this 'information' from... ??? .
Chinese, Indian, Caucasians, what's the difference? We're all here because we're cheapskates preferring to get more for less. This is still a free country last time I checked.
Deal's dead, OOS. Missed it, oh well, at least we wont need to hear any more bigotry. Thanks OP, never can resist if there are some 'loop OEMs though. Better luck next time everyone.

I bought a four-pack of Duracell Pre-charged NiMH batteries early this year from Walgreens, I believe. I do not know whether they are the Japanese Eneloops or the Chinese-made batteries, but I suspect the latter. I've used them in cordless mice and in remote controls and they last less than half of the time of my Kodak low-discharge NiMH - actually, they performed very similarly to an old set of 1600mAh standard NiMH batteries I bought with my first digital camera, a 2mp Canon A20. They do not exhibit the freedom from drain that are the whole point of low-discharge batteries.
While we are on the topic of low-discharge batteries, if anyone is thinking of picking up some Kodak low-discharge AA's, let me advise that the Kodak's are around 1mm or so larger in diameter than standard AA batteries. They work fine with some items, but they've gotten stuck inside my DirecTV DVR remote and it took ten minutes to get them out. Kodak AAA's are normal sized, though, and are roughly identical to my Eneloop AAA's.

Should I use a special charger or is the current one I have (Energizer) good enough?
