Wrong - not spam

I think you are wrong. US Appliance is a popular and reputable retailer popular on this and other forums.

I placed an order from them earlier this year and they charged my card, but never sent the shipping information or contacted me about the fact they actually had no TV's left. I had to do it myself. I was mad.

I placed on order 3 weeks a go for Samsung LCD and got it as promised, I am happy with the transaction

I don't know anything about the company, but bought this TV for almost 900.00 (floor Model) @ HHGreg. The TV is great w/ card reader. Good find OP! Green for you.

That hasn't stopped them from spamming the hell out of us in the past, but I don't see any connection between that & the OP

kinda new to fatwallet, how do i get the 5% bing CashBack on this deal? when i go to coupons & Cash Back, US Appliance doesn't come up. thanks,

rob

You have to go to bing.com and click on shopping and then search for US Appliance under the CashBack store. The CashBack is not coming from fatwallet. You'll need a live.com or hotmail account.

You may not get Bing if you use the code. It could be denied later on.

The 1080p s1 should be right around $800 ish shipped or purchased soon/now using applicable offers. On a 50 1080p matters if you are 12ft or closer to the screen.

I wish I would have gotten a larger 720p instead of a 42" 1080p for our living room. Our main HD source is Dish Network, we don't watch blu rays (wdtv), no gaming console in the living room. This would be a smart buy for those with similar viewing habits.

Trust me, on a 50 you want 1080p and it can be had for less than $100 if you shop your plasma out. LCD's over 42 now I think are quite hard to find less than 720.

You may want 1080p, that doesn't mean I want it. None of Dish Network's HD is any higher than 720, we watch that more than anything. We don't game. Don't watch blu rays (Not buying a player until we can afford to replace every DVD player in the house). Why am I in desperate need of 1080p?

DamnoIT said: Trust me, on a 50 you want 1080p.

Trust me, you do not need 1080p on a 50 unless your viewing closer than 6 feet.

Stepping up to the S1 is more than just 1080p. You are getting the NeoPDP Panel which is better contrast, brighter panel, and more Energy Efficient. Also, from my first hand experience any SD viewing appears slightly better on the S1 panels.

For the same screen size, the benefits of 1080p vs. 720p start to become apparent when closer than 9.8 feet and become full apparent at 6.5 feet.

Mediocre standard definition quality, but for the price I guess I can't expect greatness.

Using the code may prevent you from getting your bing cb

Bingo. The NeoPDP panel is the biggest reason to pay ~$80 more and get an S1 series instead of the X series.

Its now 735 on Amazon thru 6thave. If you go directly to the 6th ave site it will ask to to receive an email for a price that is too low to show up on their site. I'm guessing it will be the 735 price, which you can also use the code AFL5 to get another 5% off making the tv under 700 shipped.

Care to show where the 50" S1 can be had for $800?

I bought this TV last month from US Appliance. I placed the order on the 16th, got pdf invoice on 17th and a tracking number by the 18th. The delivery company contacted me 3 days later to schedule the delivery. Although it's supposed to be curbside delivery, I asked the delivery guy to help me bring it into my second story condo and he agreed, I gave him 5 bucks. The box looked kinda beaten, but no problems with the TV.

The TV is excellent after following the calibration instructions over at avsforum, prior to that it was a little green. There is a slight buzzing noise that comes out of the back of the TV that was annoying the first few days, I don't notice it anymore. My TV had a manufacturing date of May 2009.

Somebody over at SD assured me that they verified with US App that using a coupon will not void BCB. I used it on my order and as of today, my BCB is still valid.

The fact of the matter is that this "720p vs 1080p" debate doesn't really have a "set-in-stone" answer. Everyone's eyes don't necessarily see video exactly the same, so ultimately it's a question best answered by the person paying for the tv. The best way to find this out for yourself is to go to your local Sears, Best Buy, etc., and compare them for yourself.

Just got this tv Panasonic Viera 50" 720p Plasma HDTV Bestbuy matched BJ's wholsale club, overall great picture, I would compare this with my Samsumg 42 plasma!!!! Very satisfied. I paid $749, got 18 months no interest on finance charge and received BB reward points.

of course, that depends on your source material. if its ABC, FOX, ESPN, or half of the other cable networks, they only broadcast in 720p so there should be no difference. If its BluRay, then yea you'll definitely see it.

This Panny seems to have shot up in price almost overnight. Nowhere cheaper than $800-ish, Amazon around $885, when it was just north of $700 at most etailers earlier this week. What gives??

$767 at 6th ave through Amazon.

That's my point. It was $725 at 6Ave thru Amazon, and $739 at Amazon just 2 days ago. In fact, I did a name your price at 6Ave just yesterday @ $650, and got a counter offer for $715, active for a week. Looks like I just squeaked through coz the name your price promotion now appears to have expired.

Funny, I posted this same link on the 50in deal from the Panasonic direct / Maytag EEP deal for $600 - I was 2 feet off when I said 12. For $100 I would still do 1080. I had a 42 1080p and it was crisp, I actually do notice a hint of fuzz on 1080p content with my 50 but that is when I am at about 6 ft, with the 42 it keept perfectly crisp till about 3ft.
