A lot of these wireless thermometers have meat "presets" which make it very difficult or impossible to set the temperature manually. This one is fully manual, which is ideal. If you are thinking "what is this for?" then you must not barbecue often. This is for "low & slow" cooking. You insert the probe into your meat (brisket, pork butt, turkey, etc.) for real-time constant temperature monitoring and as soon as your meat hits the desired temperature, it beeps. I smoke meat for 14+ hours, I use one probe to measure the smoker temp and another probe to monitor the meat. It's wonderful to be able to watch football and keep an eye on the smoker temps, and to know exactly when the internal temp hits my target. |
