I've been eyeing a Panny Plasma for a while and i cant find a 46" G10 cheaper than $1000. Its still not cheaper than a $1000 but if you add a $149 BR player, it'll subtract $200 from the total. If you go for the even bigger plasmas and the higher end model BR player, Amazon will subtract $300. I know this isn't a smoking deal, and LCD people will probably haze me for this post. But if you've been looking for a plasma, nothing beats a Panny at this point.....and Amazon has free shipping
For a limited time, buy one of the qualifying Panasonic HDTVs below along with a Panasonic DMP-BD60 Blu-ray Disc player and save $200, or select the DMP-BD80 Blu-ray Disc player along with a 58-inch or 65-inch S1 Series and save $300. Simply select a Blu-ray player with an HDTV from the list below, add them to your Shopping Cart, and the savings will be applied at checkout. Promotion expires on 11:59 p.m. PST on October 31, 2009. Offer is valid only when eligible items are purchased from Amazon.com and does not apply to purchases made from other merchants on the Amazon.com website.
I bought the 46" G10 + the BD60
Subtotal of Items: $1,291.64 Shipping & Handling: $63.08 Super Saver Discount: -$10.30 Shipping Savings: -$52.78 Promotion Applied: -$0.00 Promotion Applied: -$200.00 ------ Total for this Order: $1,091.64
Seems like a good combo for this Amazon deal is the TC-P42S1 with the DMP-BD60 for a total of $708.09. The best "standard" Internet price I could find for the TC-P42S1 is $750...and that's without the Blu-ray player.
I'm so close to pulling the trigger. I'm still in the Dark Ages with a 15 year old 27" CRT. A 42" would be a huge jump for me.

I considered getting the Pioneer Kuro 500m with its insane contrast and color, but for $600 more and no BR player, no tv tuner, and it doesnt even come with a stand! it was difficult to swallow. Hope i didnt make a mistake.

That's the exact model I was looking at!! Why does Amazon HAVE to charge tax in my state (NY) Grrr.. Although ~780 is still the best price by about $75 that I've seen so far. So tempting!!
Damn you Fat Wallet!!!! New TC-P46G10 soon to be owner. Delivery on Nov 11th........ This all started when the $480 Dell 42" deal got me considering a new TV. Now I spent twice that much!
Argh, the space I have for a TV in my armoire is about 27in max (height) and of course the 42in sets with their stands are 28in tall! And none of the 37in sets are eligible for this promotion.

Please for the love of all that is good, unless you're a little girl with a pink room full of Barbie stuff, stop calling Panasonic "Panny", Samsung "Sammy", laptops "lappy's" and so on.
Do you have any clue how moronic it sounds?
Say this out loud to your friends: "I'm not sure which lappy to buy, the Panny or the Sammy. They're both so darned cute.". If you're a guy saying this to another guy who has even an ounce of testosterone in his body, you'll get punched square in the face.
Seriously... Panny Plasma..... go to Sears, buy one, then jump up and down shouting "I bought a Panny plasma! I bought a Panny plasma!"

To make this deal even sweeter....you can also get Snow White on Blu ray for free when you buy the BD-60 or the BD-80. Just add it to your cart and it will subtract the price when you check out. Snow White deal runs thru 10/26.
Just got a promo code for $20 of Amazon Video On Demand for NBC TV Shows from my TV purchase. It'll be fun to test it out on the new G10 when it arrives.

What do the Gurus on the forum think? Is it worth waiting for the Black Friday deals? I am interested in TC-P58S1 and if I sell the BR player for $100-$125, the total comes to around $1500. Please advise.

Not that i'd watch it but free is free. I just called Amazon and because i already placed my purchase, they won't honor it...basterds. Oh well, for everyone else, make sure you add the dvd to the br player and tv during checkout and it'll automatically discount the cost of the dvd to $0 (at least thats what the service guy said)
Alternatively, i can refuse shipment on the entire order and rebuy everything....but for snow white? nah, i'll pass

I would say wait. In another 2 or 3 weeks or so, the BF deals/ads will be out. So, you will know what to expect.

Actually the BD60's price went down to $122.33 from $145(what I originally paid). I wrote an email to them last night for a price adjustment and this morning they refunded ~$22 on my order.
The prices might go down further for BF, but this is a great TV at this price-point, so I am fine with pulling the trigger here..
And don't forget the promo for a free Snow White Blu-ray with the BD60 player. If you don't need it, you can always use it as a gift....

Just got my TC-P46G10 delivered yesterday. Just set it up today and the TV is just spectacular, even when watching just SDTV. I got another price adjustment when the price of the TV went down. My total came to $1000 even.
mdivino: I think the $1004 is a good deal if you really don't care about Viera Cast. I am still hoping that Panasonic will provide Netflix streaming at some point in the future

I don't think electronics expo offers free shipping which is an additional $110
