Maybe someone who reads this can help me as I have a brown thumb.
We have a strip next to my driveway that is about 100' long and 4' deep. It is literally just soil and mulch. My goal is to plant bulbs that bloom in Spring and summer all along the driveway.
These Lily's bloom in august. I assume I could drop these in 1' off the driveway line and then also plant spring bulbs 2' off the driveway line and go all the way up the driveway?
Do you plant one bulb every 2' or do you bunch the bulbs up?
How many seasons do they usually last?
Can I not plant both summer and spring bulbs in the same general area?
The bed sits in between a driveway and a row of arborvitaes. Do I need to be careful with any bulbs that share the soil with them?

Do I need to be careful with any bulbs that share the soil with them?depending on the flowers you plant. since these lillies are a one stem type of bulbs/flowers, you may want to plant them closer together so no gaps when they grow/bloom. they do come back next year but i'm not sure how many seasons they will last. i'm in north texas and i have to dig up my bulbs and replant every year. i had some tulips planted in front but never came back the next season. i don't know about these lillies because i have never planted them b4.

Asiatic lilies bloom in the spring and last about 3-4 weeks. Oriental lilies bloom mid summer to fall. If you plant both you'll get a nice long period of color. Most of these bulbs will naturalize (return next year) and produce for 3 seasons before needing to be replaced. Subsequent blooms depend upon if you fertilize them at the end of each season. The plant is about 18 inches tall and 6 inches around so plant them fairly close together for maximum color display or fill in below them with shorter plants.
