The first four reviews and the staff review call it "cute". If it wasn't North Face, I'd consider that suspicious.
Description says it is a great all around winter jacket, but it is fleece. How is fleece waterproof? "All around" winter implies it is great for any winter weather.
This is probably a nice looking jacket in -dry- cold weather, or a good layer under a real jacket -- wouldn't be good for serious cold areas or snow and especially rain/sleet.

The Denali is a classic fleece jacket and I don't think anyone would expect to wear it in snow/rain/sleet without a shell. But the nylon panels do give it a decent amount of wind resistance. It is no longer considered a technical all weather jacket and I've never seen it pretend to be. I think you are taking the product description too literally especially for a kids jacket.
These (particularly the black one) are like standard issue clothing at most college campuses. I got my daughter one (not black) a couple of years ago when REI (I think) had them on clearance for cheap. My son, who was then in high school, used to make disparaging remarks about all the kids who had to wear these.
Then last year we found a great deal on adult size black Denali jackets at the north face outlet store ($70 each). My son became a convert and both of my kids got one and now my son matches everyone else.
The XL size kids jacket is probably big enough to fit a small adult; sadly they only have it available in brown at the moment.
