These speakers have great reviews everywhere and they are awesome speakers for a Home Theater system (specially for a karaoke system) with a really reasonable price (actually cheap !!!)

My guess is the Monitor 70's would be a great upgrade for listening to music, but stick with the 50's and buy a sub for home theater with the $ saved. Don't forget the center channel, gotta have one for home theater.
By the way, Polk Audio has THE best customer service in the industry, based on personal experience installing Polk car speakers, subs and amps. Had trouble with the install and Polk walked me through it, helped trouble-shoot electrical problems with the head unit, and they were happy to help! I bought a Polk amp from Circuit City that was missing the sub remote volume control, and they happily shipped one at no charge, no questions asked.
So, basically, Polk Audio makes great speakers and they stand behind them.

These are great speakers. I have them paired with a polk CS2 and Yamaha sub-woofer for 4mos now. sound quality is superb
