9 Boxes of GE LED Christmas Lights for $15.83 after $10 off $50 Coupon AND MQ Coupons at LOWES B&M YMMV 9 Boxes at $5.97 each = $53.73 YMMV Lowes has a promotion where there are $10 off $50 purchase coupons at Lowes right in these specific boxes. You'll see the sign for them advertising this when you are looking at the lights!
$53.73 -$10 Lowes $10 off $50 - $27 in attached Manufacturer Coupons.
Total = $16.73.
Just did this and all went beautifully!
Here are the lights to choose from...but they have more!
Also Try each box has a $10 off $50 coupon inside it, but you can only use ONE $10 off $50 coupon and then 9 $3.00 off manufacturer coupons. But you'll have 8 of the $10 off $50 coupons left for future purchases...so that's $80 in savings for future purchases right there.
Nice deal, OP. Looks like you lucked out on the coupon. It's only supposed to be used on the EnergySmart lights, which are more expensive. The ones you linked to are StayBright. Any trouble getting Lowe's to take the coupons?
blaster668 said: The coupon also states that it is limited to one purchase. How the heck did you get them to accept 9 coupons at once?
If you buy 9 boxes, you can use 9 coupons. It's One per purchase but I take that as each box is a purchase. And the store just did it fine for me. Usually "cannot be combined with other offers" means you can't use two Manufacturer coupons on the same item. I've never had a problem using a STORE coupon and combining it with a Manufacturer coupon. I guess it could be a YMMV if your store has some aholes, but it went very smoothly for me and I'm a happy camper!
I was not able to use both coupons. I was able to use the $3 off coupons, but they wouldn't let me use the 10off50 in conjuction. The coupon wouldn't scan, so he had to manually mark down the lights, so the total was only $28, and the coupon was 10 off 50.
The 10off50 clearly states that it can't be combined with other coupons or discounts. The OP got lucky. It's still a great deal. The lights were half off.

Hey, minor detail. Is the final price $15.83 or $16.73.
can anyone post the power usage of one of these strings of LED lights? (trying to justify the cost difference) a note: a 100 string of typical white lights runs something in the 28 - 35 watt range if I remember correctly.
thanks
--------------------------- edit: found a review on Amazon for the C9 LED ones 200 lights (4 strands) only draws 12 watts.
He does not have one, it is a copy and paste from SD, at least at SD she corrected the MAN coupon to MQ. If you have not done the deal yourself, your should not state your have.
Shot down on using the $10 off $50 since the $3 coupons took it below $50. Also had to wait 15 minutes for a manager, and a phone call, and finally approval of the $3 coupons.
Still, ~$26 for these lights seems fair. The small white ones are plenty bright. The other ones I purchased were the larger multi-colored 25 set. They're not very bright at all, but they're a lot like an old set I used to have so I like them. Without the $10 coupon working I should have went back and got the better light sets for another $15.
LED's = 50 Total Set Wattage = 3.84 Watts Socket Spacing = 3 in Lighted Length (1 set) = 12.2 feet Max Daisy Chain = 25 sets fuser plug 2 spare LED's & 2 spare fuses LED's = 25 Total Set Wattage = 1.92 watts socket spacing - 6 in lighted length = 12 feet ...

Butcherboy should be able to post a scan of his receipt as he states that he did it himself. I would be interested in seeing how the cashier made it work for him as the Lowes system applies Lowes coupons as percentages off of each item unless it is manually entered with manager override as a single $10 credit. When a Lowes coupon is entered it will over ride any price changes to previously scanned items back to their original price. I had just that problem when buying cartfuls of Klein tools that were discounted 75% and then trying to use a Lowes $10 off $50. In my case a helpful manager put the coupon through as a single credit, but the cashier couldn't do it without his help.

As alway if you look at my post you will see Thanks DS7 I try to always give credit, where I find the info.

Tried at my local Lowes and was told no--could not use the $10 off $50 unless the order after the coupons was more then $50. Then they rejected the $3 coupon because they have the same sku #. They told me that all coupons have different sku # I argued but it did no good. I tried to tell them if I went I bought 10 papers with the coupons section that the same coupon would have the same sku, but they said no they don't and I didn't have any other coupons on me to prove them wrong. I said what if I bought them one box at a time they still said no.
That's a lot of green for something that's not likely to work. I know butcherboy gives us a ton of deals, but we do rate the deal, not the dealster, right?

It's one thing to decline on legit grounds, but those folks were idiot ajoles.
They let me use the 9 - $3 coupons but they wouldn't accept the $10 Lowes coupon along with those. They said because the coupons brought it below $50 I couldn't use the Lowes coupon. The clerk had to get her supervisor to help her process the 9 - $3 off coupons.
It was still a good deal, but not as good as OP write up.

It was still a good deal, but not as good as OP write up.Should pick up something around $23-24 to make the total $50. Then use all coupons (9 GE; 1 lowes). Turn around and return the $23-24 item, and you still get 9 boxes for $21.xx (as you'll get about 1/2 of the 10 off 50 coupon - or $5).

Didn't argue, because it was....
The arguement to make there is that some people pay for digital publications/subscriptions and are entitled the same coupon useage as a paper/delivered subscription.

Can you prove the 'digital publication' is original? I think it's hard to prove that the pdf file (or print out) is not a duplication.... unless you have email with your name on it indicating the pdf is directly sent to you. That's 2 cents.
I doubt that Lowes gets many coupons from their shoppers. They also probably aren't the cheapest on pricing for lights. I would use these at WalMart, target etc... when they have their light out.

Well, you should give them a demo... buying one box at a time using the coupon.

Wow... Now we are required to carry proof of digital publications in our fat wallets... just wow! lol Get a grip dood. i heard the country was leaning in that direction.. now you gave me PROOF.
FURTHERMORE, this is a FREE newsletter publication as available on the website hositng the pdf.
The reason people are having issues, and I can also concur, is that some Lowes employees feel very important by shooting someone down with a coupon even if legit. I have had Lowes coupons sent to me in the mail and Lowes tried to tell me they were fake. Loosen up, man.
Stopped by my local Lowes and found that the $5.97 lights are not the lights associated with the posted coupons. There is a subtle difference between these lights and the $9.97 GE lights that are covered by the coupon. Looking at the boxes and the coupons will allow you to see the difference. You may get lucky and some Lowes might let you use the coupons on the $5.97 lights, but I can understand why they might reject your attempt.
My Lowes gave me no trouble using the coupon on the $9.97 GE lights and I'm happy with the deal I got.
It's true that the digital coupon is a reproduction. The coupon is technically void upon receipt. Just like my Entertainment.com coupons that say void if sold - yet they sold them to me. It's overly-vague wording designed for different circumstances.
However, the reason a coupon gets rejected is more often due to the retailer not being willing to risk loosing out on that money. If it's a manufacturers coupon, like this one, and the MFG decides the coupon was abused or used more than they want to be held accountable for they can screw the retailed by stating it was not a valid coupon. They give theirselves this guaranteed loophole by invalidating the coupon from the get-go (not valid if reproduced, but provided as a digital reproduction in the first place).
Complaints should go to GE for voiding their own coupon, not to Lowe's for being unwilling to eat the huge potential loss from taking these coupons and getting stiffed by GE.
Got shot down....Lowes clerk said "We don't accept manufacturer's coupons" which I laughed at. Manger also wouldn't let them go through but at least gave the reproduction excuse that others have received.
got to use the 9 $3 coupons, but not the $10 off $50. regular cashier was unable to do any part of it, and sent me off to the customer service register. customer service couldn;t get the coupons to scan (even though i had printed the big nice ones) and finally ended up manually changing the prices to $2.96 ea (with help from a managers override). nice leds cheap, even without the extra $10 off... if the price is good tomorrow, i;m thinking of going to a different lowes and trying to buy 17 at once, for then, after the 17 $3 coupons, i could "legally" use the $10 off $50 on my total of ~$51...
thanks as usual to the op, and all who contributed...
So the only reason people are buying 9 of these is because thats what the OP did? Otherwise if pretty much no one is having any luck with the $10 off $50, buying 9 just seems like a random number used. Or is there some other significane with 9?
Thanks OP. Tried at the self scanners, and cashier intervened saying it wouldn't scan the coupons for some odd reason. She allowed us to use all 3 dollar off coupons for each box, and then the manager allowed us to use our 10 off 50. Woot and Merry Christmas! T

Not sure where to post this...but I was able to use the coupon from the first post in this thread at Kroger. My local store had a full stock of the GE LED's (all kinds) on sale (30% off), whereas Lowes & HD have been sold out for weeks.
In short, 4 boxes of GE "warm white" C5 for $3.69/box (after sale + coupon). Not bad.
