Same price in Phoenix area stores. Made in India, they identify themselves with a new media code from Moser Baer - MBIPG101SR1. I haven't tried them yet, but I won't be putting anything valuable on them.

If this is true then I may have to pass on this deal.. I never had good luck with Moser Baer discs
Update: Hey guys actually my bro bought a spindle yesterday. I just tried a backup of my xbox 360 and a movie and both works just as fine as my verbatims. I'll go pick some today. thanks op

Got a couple from the Concord, CA store. Price on the spindle and the shelf both showed $29.99, but price check turned up as $12.99. So be sure to check before buy. My guess is that this price should also be good in other Bay area stores...
The Sony DL DVD sale was advertised in last Friday's paper, bottom of page 3. Prices are good through Thursday or when they run out of stock which typically is very fast,
The Seattle (Renton) WA Fry's has an ad out this (Sunday) morning for these discs. It's the first ad I've seen for them at Seattle's Fry's at this price, $13 per 25 discs. I will report on the media code of the the discs I get, but that will be after 9 AM tomorrow. I don't see any YMMV except for running out of stock.
Has anyone looked at the write descriptors to see if they might be written faster than 2.4x with acceptable results? And does anyone have definitive knowledge of the manufacturer? It's been said that they're MBIPG101SR1 made by Moser Baer, but I don't know either of these things with any authority.

I have received my one per customer and the media code is MBIPG101R10, not the same code as somebody else transcribed. There are write descriptors for 8x, 6x, and 4x, but curiously, no 2.4x. I'm about to burn my first.
