Someone may think "SmartBargains always overestimates their thread counts. More like 400 or less. And it may be poorer Egyptian cotton made in Pakistan or elsewhere. You need to spend $200 or more for the real thing.".
We just received the 800TC ordered last week. It looks good. Of course, it's single ply, you cannot compare to the 2 ply sheets sold for around $200.
Sure these high thread count sheets feel great at first, but since each thread is so thin, they are prone to ripping easily in normal use/washing. Never had a set last more than a few rounds in the washer/dryer. I stick with more normal thread counts now. If you want silky smooth/soft, buy silk!
