Thx OP! I assume items that say "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com" qualify, even if they are from different manufacturers, right (i.e. it's the seller, not the manufacturer)?
Just to add a caveat, make sure you save, copy, print all your correspondence/email/offers(as with any deal, I suppose) especially if this mag offer is from Conde Nast magazines, instead of a $10 rebate, I got a rejection letter from "cookie" magazine, after calls, resubmission faxes, emails back and forth to them and Amazon, I gave up. Just FYI.
Well, I went for it, but didn't see a magazine subscription listed in my cart...so...i'm wondering if i'll get it or not - seems odd you'd have to wait for the subscription e-mail...but I'll look...thanks OP.

right, they must be purchased from Amazon's own inventory of toys (any brand) and not from third party seller's who list on Amazon.

you won't see anything added to your cart, however, the toy(s) you are buying will show the special promotion underneath the item.

Glad you found it, just be sure to print out the copy of the email you do get from Amazon about the sub/refund. Sometimes they land in your spam folder too. Follow the directions to a "T" and make a copy of your submission for your records. Typically they take 8-12 weeks to process/send you the check.
Maybe I'm missing it, but can I get the $9.97 as a rebate (instead of the magazine subscription). The title of the thread seems to imply that, but I don't see it mentioned anywhere in the body of the first post.

Last year when they had this offer they were more obvious in the way they worded it if you wanted a refund instead of the magazine. This year, it is just a few words.

it is the one they email you after you place the order. print that out and circle the info that applies (date/items, etc)
Does anyone know from last years program, if you deleted your order confirmation, will they accept anything else? Like the invoice from the shipment, or the shipping confirmation email?

shipping confirmation e-mail is the best thing to use. has all the info to verify purchase/date, etc.
I ordered Settlers of Catan with this, after playing it for the first time at a friend's house this past weekend. Awesome game and a nice price of $24, after the rebate. Glad I checked before I posted!
