not sure how good the refurbs are, but i can vouch for the website, i bought a few items from them before, one of them a motherboard that arrived DOA, i had no problem getting a RMA and refund from them; they were very quick to respond, very polite, and very helpful.

i'd buy from them anytime.
bought from here last week and was impressed with email responses and delivery time. thats what got me browsing their site, and then i stumbled on the PS3 there
Thanks! I pulled the trigger for 2 of them. Got them for the kids. Wanted to upgrade from a PS2 and it takes care of them wanting a computer to boot. Good start for Christmas.
momolaughs said: Is this backwards compatible. Depends on the model. Only the very first 80gb units from Aug '07 are backwards compatible.
The 80gb and 160gb units now in production (since Nov '08) are not backwards compatible. The specs list this unit as having only 2 usb ports. The 80gb units that were backwards compatible had 4 usb ports.
This is the only reason we haven't upgraded from the PS2.
These units in this thread are listed as having 4 ports and it says they are backwards compatible http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/961890/
Thanks for the info jimates. I purchased these. I have two working ps2's. I'm tired of buying the "updated" games like Madden etc and there not being much difference. Kids will just have to deal with two units. Seems like a good deal over all.

sorry, i cant tell for sure.
Does it really make a difference? If you have PS2 games, won't you also have a PS2? And if you don't, why bother getting a PS3 if you want to play PS2 games?
