"Black Friday Now" sales at Sears On Saturday mornings from 9AM to Noon from October 31 to December 19, Sears will be having their "Black Friday Now" sales where there will be some items that will be offered earlier at the Black Friday prices.
Not too much this week though. Some stuff of note:
LG 42" 1080p LCD: $649.99 - Item #: 57 / 71849/42LF11 GE A950 digital camera: $69.99 - Item #: 0352812 Craftsman 14-drawer tool chest: $199.97 - Item #s: 12731/2/3 Craftsman 302 pc mechanics tool set: $200 (it says 50% off and save $200) - Item #:34302
Other apparel items, fitness, vacuum and microwave also on sale.
Thanks for the heads up. Looking at the parking lot at my local Sears this weekend I'm afraid the only thing "black" will be the inside of the store when they turn off the lights permanently.

Just because we know that doesn't mean that Joe-Wouldn't-Know-A-Hot-Deal-If-It-Hit-Him Public has any clue. Think about all those store liquidation sales when nimrods were snatching "fantastic deals" at 10% over normal retail.

Yeah Sears sucks. I'm sick and tired of their continual "sale" and the associated spam. The only time I go to Sears is when I need a power tool and I can't afford a better brand than Craftsman.

True that. One of the best purchases we've ever made, as we took advantage of that last year. Hoping for a similar deal this year, too, on something else.
In the blackfriday forum on here. There's 3 different washer/dryer sets in there, I'm debating on which one is the best deal.

I just downloaded their ad and looked at it today. I am looking for a good energy star rated washer and dryer this year too. The pair on the front cover caught my eye, but they might be too small. I am going to defiantly have to do a lot of research this year.
And as for the "black friday now" sales; this is just a scheme to get people into the stores early. What do you think they'd do if I printed out part of the leaked Black Friday ad and asked for that promotion?? hahahaha
The Sears spokeswoman's quote went something like this: The majority of our customers wanted Black Friday prices but they didn't want to get up early or stand line.
Quote: On Nov. 7th, as part of "Black Friday Now" deals, Sears will exclusively offer a 42” Zenith Plasma TV for only $499 (reg. $649.99). Customers can pre-order this great deal as of Oct. 29 on Sears.com.
Looks like the TV will be much cheaper than OP posted, and a different brand. Can snag it today if you wish. Story
I thought they did something similar to this last year. They would have 1 or 2 items every few days at "black friday prices". Some of the deals were pretty good (like the washers and dryers). The idea, of course, is to get you coming back to the store more often in hopes you will buy other stuff. Regardless, if you are a FW member, you already know all of these "tricks" and most likely know how to get the best price (by visiting FW more of course!)anyway.

best buy or frys does better than Sears because i got a 42 lcd Sony for $425 when they had a clearance a couple of months ago. It was 720i but still better than a LG any day. Sears prices do not compete. They don't even compete with Target sale prices and they are not even an electronics speacialty retailer.

FYI, Consumer Reports had the Kenmore 800 Series 6982 dryer as a top pick, 2nd only to the LG DLE2516. None of Kenmore's Washers made the list though. CR is real big on front-loaders. Only the GE WJRE5500G made the final cut for top-loader.

Can someone please call Captain Obvious??? Heck, I find it even more surprising that -- by corollary of this statement -- there exists a minority that, given the option, would rather get up early and stand in line for Black Friday prices. "But, darn it, we LIKE pitching a tent on the sidewalk in front of a store right after a holiday dinner, when winter cold is looming in the air!"

If you count the 10% off with Sears card, CashBack and mail in rebate of $50, this TV will come out cheaper that $629. I bet your $629 reflected all of the above...

Which one is the better deal though? I'm thinking Samsung.
