Perfect timing! My dad asked me to look for a decent laptop just last night. Here is what I just purchased using my rewards zone card: Toshiba-Laptop with Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor-Black Onyx-A505-S6980 $48.01 $648.00
Microsoft-Office Home and Student 2007-Windows $69.99 $69.99 $0.00 $5.59 $75.58
Microsoft-Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade-Windows $49.99 $49.99 $0.00 $3.99 $53.98
Sales Tax: $60.00 Order Total: $809.97
I bought my brother this computer along with the antivirus software as a early Christmas present. IMO it is a hefty computer perfect for my 6'4" hefty brother. He is a trucker and needs a heavy duty one for his travels; I hope I made the right selection for him. The microsoft 7 upgrade and the OFFICE 2007 is for my dad. I hope they like everything.

I think most people are waiting to see what kind of laptop deals will be available on Black Friday, so they're not getting too excited about the promos happening now. This one looks like a good candidate for $499 on BF.

Thanks for the reply!!!
hmmm...$100 or wake up early in the morning and brave the BF crowds...actually $70 after Bing....quite a quandry...(if it does go for $499 on BF that is...)

it comes with Windows 7 64-bit, no upgrade required.

what's up with this?/ I just saw that BestBuy raised the price of this particular Toshiba model now to $899?? That's freaking insane... never knew they would actually raise prices by that much....
I agree with you look. It was $629 one night and $899 the next morning. I wanted to buy this computer and was waiting for $599. I have never seen a computer esculate in price this much. I was hoping it was a pricing mistake but it was $899 at my local bestbuy also.

same here Beach1FL... I missed the $599 sale and was waiting for it to go on sale again thinking it can only go down and not up...
actually went to the BestBuy store today and asked one of the employees to see what's the deal... he knows what I'm talking about and said it is one of their best selling laptops... still, that doesn't make it right when the Toshiba web site has it listed at $729 as suggested retail price...

Bummer, I was looking for the price of this computer to go down too.
Red. Who would pay this much for a laptop when there was an Acer 2 weeks ago for $249 at Best Buy and there are several deals for under $400 everywhere? Red.
