BA Frys BM 10.28-29: Phenom II X2 550 + Gigabyte MB $90

Wednesday and Thursday Bay Area B&M Fry's supposedly offer a Phenom II X2 550 processor and a Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2P motherboard for $90. It is probably OEM since the picture doesn't show a retail CPU box.

It isn't a terrible deal. The processor is apparently equal to a Intel Core2 Duo E8335 @ 2.66 GHz or a Phenom 8600B Triple Core. It runs about $100 most places. The motherboard is nothing to write home about, 2 RAM slots, 2 SATA slots, 1 IDE, only 10/100 ethernet, 3 audio ports, 4 USB ports, a printer and com port, 2 PCI slots, a PCI-E 16x & 1x, and onboard Geforce 6100 VGA, about $52 at the 'Egg.

As ever, call ahead, Fry's has become really lousy at stocking its combo deals, they really are bait & switch loss leader. But since this deal isn't that great maybe it will still be in stock.
