Caskets @ WalMart, starting at $999!
Umm... yea, so not a bad deal considering caskets can cost around $4k...

LINK

Under the FTC's Funeral Rule, you have every right to purchase from a third party casket provider and your funeral director will not penalize you or charge you a fee of any kind for handling. The generally the price you pay for caskets purchased from a funeral home is two to two and one half times the wholesale cost.

thanks spades24k

These things arrive faster than their typical shipping of other items! Probably a good thing for those who need it. Not so good for any other item.

This could also double as an extra bed for guest sleep overs while you are storing in your home waiting to die.

I would buy but I am a little worried about lead paint. Anyone have one of these? Are they comfortable?

They offer "Ship to Home".... Funeral Home that is. I'm not kidding.

Dead!

I'd be more worried about the formaldehyde they're pumping into you...

I wonder if they have discount embalming...THAT's where they get ya... I wouldn't be caught dead in a casket from WalMart.

I NEVER byte unless I see large number of positive reviews. So, I will wait for that.

No bell or window upgrades? Anyone going to mod one?

don't forget 10% bing CB, hope you don't die b4 you get it.

Shipping kills the deal

Not Dead Yet!

Now here is proof. WalMart actually does sell something Made in the USA.

Does anybody have a BOGO coupon code?

You might try 'ASHES2ASHES'

Those are just regular prices, not discounted. BTW, this is a better link, it shows only caskets http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_query=caskets&...

Just make your own pine box. It's all you need.

Fancy it up a bit if you want and it doubles as a coffee table. And you get to take it with you.

Is there a one-per-customer limit?

prostitution is still out of WalMart's grasp.

I like the urn prices better. what does it cost to be creamated?

OOS in New Orleans

I heard these may be refurbished... YMMV!

This is great for all the True Blood wannabe's.

At only $99 for shipping I think I'll order one for my MIL for Christmas.

Not Sold In Stores ??? Heh, I could imagine the comments if they were.

Wouldn't a cardboard box work just as well? Pick up a supply next time you're there for your friends and family!

Costco has sold caskets for years, in some BS states, Like my home of Wisconsin, they have laws to help the funeral home business that makes caskets only available from licensed funeral directors to preserve their fat profits. Green for OP, but I'll still be burned and scattered.

Is there anything that WalMart DOESN'T SELL?

You have way to much time on your hands.

GTinMIA said: Shipping kills the dealShips within 2 days and Overnight by FedEx for $99 for 200+ Pounds. Not bad really. I once was charged $230 to ship a projection HDTV from New Jersey by freight. It weighed 140# and was ?lost? by shipping company. You know how big that TV was, huge! Took me 60+ days to get my money back.

These are great - I hear that everyone is dying to get these...

Cremation - $200 but you have to go through a funeral service and they can pick up the body and deliver to crematory. They charge about $800+, you won't believe this, TAX. State TAX!

im in

Fancy caskets are a huge waste of money. It's not like you're going to be any more comfortable or decompose better or anything ridiculous like that. It's bling for your corpse that gets a few hours of use exactly once.

Get a cardboard coffin for under $150 and let your heirs do something useful with the other $850.

(Then again, if you're dead, you're dead. What do you care how much it cost? SOLID GOLD COFFIN! What did your heirs ever do for you?)

No in-store pickup? Are these rollback prices?

For my wife loves me so much, I would have appreciated it if it was a BOGO deal.
