For Best Buy reward zone members (free membership in store) Sprint HTC Hero is $129.99 with new activation or upgrade.
That's $50 off of the standard price with no mail in rebates required! Great deal on a nice phone.

In store Only

I will be going in for a PM today!

Edit: Got my PM, and got it as an upgrade for my wife.

Please post if anyone has luck calling Sprint and getting them to price match this w/ the EPP pricing. Conversely, if anyone has been able to do an EPP activation at Best Buy, that would be even better.

Edit: Also, typo in the original post. This is only good through 11/2.

Edit Edit: I guess there's two coupons!

Great price for those that qualify. I bought this phone earlier this month and I love it.

Be advised that the Samsung "Moment" (also an android phone) -- with a keyboard and eye-popping OLED screen -- is coming to Sprint on November 1.

There's pros and cons to both sets. The Samsung Moment has the better screen by a decent degree, the fastest processor currently on an Android handset, and a slide out keyboard, but the early reviews say that the touch screen is unresponsive and it only comes with plain vanilla Android 1.5. The HTC Hero has Sense UI (which is being described as what Android should be out of the box), improved touch screen keyboard / spellcheck, 3.5" headphone jack, multi touch browsing, top notch speaker phone, etc. You can have a more powerful phone that's stripped to the basics that is a bit more future proof for future apps (Moment) or you can have a slower, decked out Android phone (Hero)...it depends on your needs/wants. It's going to be the Hero that Sprint is going to battle Verizon's Droid with in the long run, not the Samsung.

FYI - this coupon is also available to non-silver members, but it expires on 11/2 instead of 11/8.

OP, can you please fix the link to your coupon? It is not working. Thank you.

Thanks for the heads up! Fixed.

But it's non contract phones only.

....and here is the dreaded words.......did these things ever end up being able to work with SERO?

Pre, Hero and instinct are all still blocked

Got my PM today without any problems. Love the phone.

Excellent phone; the best Android other than the Droid

Thanks, got a PM today. Easy.

I wonder when they're going to discount the HTC TP2.

It will never happen.. Mainly because I want one.. Just wish they had upped something on ther stats on the phone over the Touch Pro... Faster processor or something..

Hi, Who did you call at sprint for the PM?---thanks--Joe

Which probably won't be allowed on SERO plans.

It looks like Bestbuy.com just dropped the price on HTC Hero $80 to $99.99 for new Sprint customers. This is the best deal out there for this device and not sure how long they will keep it there.

HTC Hero Direct Link

HTC Hero at Best Buy is $99 with new 2 year activation. =)
