edit: Having problems uploading pics right now...working...Update: GAVE UP; Only site I can not load photos to. All criteria met & still can not do...Advice from mods = "check photo size & type"; Been there done that.
Went there to check out some 50% off lawn and garden deal that didn't exist at my store, but ran into this deal:
41" PRO SET <A> Top box and roller Chest COMBO 41" wide x 58" combined height Black exterior Silver drawer fronts
8-Drawer Top Box Five stacked wide drawers (About 2/3 of the width) Three shorter drawers about 1/3 the width
I opened the box in store and seen that the drawers are of decent construction (Not snap-on grade OR snap-on price either...This is not a $5000.00 box for $300. It is a $400-600 box for under $300 depending on your taxes)
I have been searching for a couple months for a good deal & I think this a better deal than any Sears Craftsman Boxes I have seen lately.
Sign on box says "Gift Event Special" My store only had 2 and said they were not getting anymore as this was a special sku. (Racine, WI has only 1 left)
Could not find on their website, but it is similar to these two combined: similar boxes I also looked in the current flyer and it isn't in there...Maybe an upcoming sale?
SKU on receipt: 635958 Advertised price on in-store sign: $299.99 -10% Lowes coupon = -$29.90 Total = $269.10, plus taxes
For those who don't need one quite as wide, Sears is having a sale on Craftsman 14 Drawer, 26-1/2 in. Combo - Platinum/Black Craftsman 14 Drawer Tool Chest $200 (50% off) Saturday 9AM to Noon Only

if you don't mind getting one with dents, go to your local Sears and look for toolboxes on clearance. they're usually discounted @ 50% or more.

50% off Sears prices still don't compare (As shown above from first Sears employee) with this deal for NEW NON-DENTED MODEL.
Do we have a rush of Sears employees on here tonight? Or just Home Depot Haters?
FYI...stil can't upload pics.
Also they had several different sizes, styles & colors grouped in this "Gift Event Sale" in the seasonal displayu section upfront, not in the tool section (Had a big Santa sign next to them.

I have been looking for a decent tool box for a while. This is the best price for this size anywhere. Sears doesn't even come close, sale or not.
I'm not sure about the quality though, guess should be similar to craftsman. I will go to store to take a look tomorrow. Will buy in a heart beat if it's decent quality.

Same here. I had them open the top box only to check quality. Then said don't bother closing it or putting it back. We loaded right onto a cart and went. I would gauge it to be the same as an average craftsman with roller bearing drawers. It is not like the high end $1000 boxes, but still a decent quality for the price point. I have been checking out boxes from 41-52" wide for about a month also. Everyplace: Sears, HD, Lowes, Harbor Freight, Sears Outlet ($600 for a similar Roller Chest only, but w/ two drawer stacks), Farm & Fleet, & Menards. It took me about two-heartbeats & one call to the wife & it was out the door.

i bought the upper 42 box from hd last year and a harbor freight 42 lower. The drawers on the hd are bearing but they seem to bind side to side when closing. Not bad just not butter smooth like the harbor freight special or the 26 craftsman boxes i own. just food for thought

I have also seen the Harbor Freight box. I think the lower is currently priced at $499 for just the lower. Plus 2 or 3 hundred for the upper, so apples & oranges = Two different price points, that would be paying TWICE the price, which I don't think the HF is twice the quality, size or material.
Thanks for offering a different option, but still not a hot deal, as this one is.
Scored the floor model at a discount. OP thanks for posting I would have never caught this deal. Now I have to sell my craftsman box.

My HD store only have the uppper chest for $209 and that's the last one they have.
I just bought a Snapon KR1000 for $800 on CL. The roll cab is approx. 54" x 30" x 46"tall, with only a few very minor dents on front of drawyers and some light scratches. This thing is like a tank if craftsman box is a car. Happy!!! ))

Here's a photo of the Husky 41" toolbox Home Depot is selling for $300. (cell phone picture, sorry for quality)
I think its awsome for the price. This thing stands about 5' tall and is on wheels that you can lock in place. General appearance is great and the drawers stay shut when you push them all the way in (some sort of lump or whater in the track that holds them). They slide easy but, in my opinion, the drawers feel less rigid than a good craftsman box. Nothing that would worry me, just an observation. I work there part time as a 2nd job. I believe this item is a special buy at home depots currently. I looked it up in the computer system there and its listed as 'inactive' which is usually something that we dont normally carry or that we did at one time and no longer will. Hope this info helps.

Yep, thats it. Thanks for the pics! I agree with you about the drawers, but specifally you said "Good craftsman box" & I think that if you match the price points, this would be better than an equally priced craftsman. Agreed not as god as the ones in the $600-$1000 range.
Thanks OP...Picked 1 up tonight..Gonna put it together in the morning...

Where did you get the Lowes coupon from? Also do all Home Depots accept a Lowes coupon?

See above post...at the post office in the movers pack. Most HD's do accept the q, but I am sure there is the YMMV oddity where they do not accept them. I am not sure that I have even heard of one NOT accepting them, but you never know.
Thanks OP. I saw this at my local Home Depot yesterday at 9:00am and went back today around 10:00am and purchased it. I have been looking for a cheap way to replace my 26 inch tool box set and this works GREAT.
Pretty good quality, I would say it is the same quality of an entry level craftsman w/ the exception of ball bearing draws.
The wheels are very nice!
The 16 year old kid that used a hand jack to move it for me was not interested in how a great a deal it was, the older cashier (i did not select) who knew the kid was having a fit over the size of the tool box and the $299 price.
Notice, not the actual cashier I selected, I intentionally picked a cashier with the "this place sucks, please kill me" look on her face, she could care less.
The woman causing problems said "its only one piece?" and "its only $299?" both times I pointed out the giant Home Depot sticker that said "two piece tool set" and the markings on the box that said "1 of 2" and "2 of 2" and thank god the computer said "two pieces" or I may have to start an argument!

Which store did you find it at 299.00. Down in Niagara its 349.00 and they won't budge on price.

I have deleted my pics and thre away the box already. But I believe the base is 18" deep. The Harbor Freight lower cheast only for $499 is 24" deep.
So, yes, it is the shallower size box.

not deep at all, the top drawers are 10" deep and the bottom ones are 13"
It's $24.99 shipped. The 3 rolls included is all you need to line all the drawers and between the top and bottom units. If you plan and measure carefully, you will barely have any scrap pieces left over. The product is thick and good quality.
