A couple of years back, the front page at Amazon, in the section where it recommends things based on your prior purchases, it included one of these. To this day, I have no idea why, as I hadn't bought anything that would related to either sidewalk construction or, uh, personal/partner satisfaction. Did get a good laugh out of it though.
Just be glad you don't work in a structural engineering office. It's one of the few places you can talk about erections and never see a raised eyebrow. "That's what she said" has to be saved for really special moments, as it applies way to often to remain funny for long in my office.
WIKI said: Concrete vibrators are used to consolidate fresh concrete so that entrapped air and excess water are released and the concrete settles firmly in place in the formwork. Improper consolidation of concrete can cause product defects, compromise the concrete strength, and produce surface blemishes such as bug holes and honeycombing. An internal concrete vibrator is a steel cylinder about the size of the handle of a baseball bat, with a hose or electrical cord attached to one end. The vibrator head is immersed in the wet concrete.
see this video to know what this is for - Concrete Vibrators Very interesting and I had no clue before now...and would not have if I had laughed and moved on...
Oddly enough I found myself in the market for a concrete vibrator a couple of weeks ago. I can't say for sure, but I think this item description is a bit misleading. I think this is ONLY the extra-long shaft, not the entire unit (there are no specs given for a motor, power requirements, etc). This would be used with the 3/4 HP one for $99.99, but cannot be used separately...
FWIW, this thing is pretty loud, so if you're using it for something other than construction work I recommend you live in single family housing
