It's the exact same item that was mentioned by the OP!

its available from bestbuyoffer and focalprice (the two that paypal offer $20 back) for $30 shipped. That's $10 after the promo.

I have the EXACT same pen. Doesn't record longer than 10 seconds.

If you follow the OP's link, it takes you to a video sample of this device. Lets see now, this is a mini camcorder, right? What does the video of over 6 minutes show? Its pointed towards an office, where basically nothing moves. Great demo. WHAT MARKETING GENIUS!

No Dwight references yet? Come on FW, you're slackin'!

12FPS? I thought it was supposed to be video? LOL

But what about the really choppy audio? That's doubly genius marketing at work!

Can we get a translator in here?

eBay is your friend. There's a dude selling them for $10 on eBay. $20 w/shipping. 640x480 and 8GB. Mine just showed up two days ago. Works great.

Have it and it's useless if anything moves - you or the object of your filmmaking, not to mention huge and ugly. Latest technology, my a$$.

I got that pen. It is pretty big. Kinda hard to hide it since it's freaken big. However, the video and sound is not too bad.

So how long does it record? What's the FPS?

The other people saying it doesn't record more than 10secs and it's 12fps.. so what is it?

Can somebody do the real marketing job, if you have this pen your experience (fragile, quality, extent), how long you had it, did you drop it, what natural uses you had in mind when you got it and why would someone get it except putting it in a shoe or something like that (would remind you off some Asian videos of undergarments marketing ?

Anything Spycam are selling like hot cakes. That tells something about our culture: My privacy is my constitutional right; others' privacy is my fair game.

Have you tried putting 8GB worth of files onto it? You might find that you can only fit 4gig... and maybe even only 2.

Long enough for what I will use it for......

Isn't there a better model out there than this one? Shop4tech sucks generally.

Yep. It's 8GB. That's why I got this one. Worst case scenario, I paid $20 for a 8GB USB drive.

As for the questions of quality. Eh... 12 FPS maybe generous. I'm thinking about 8. When things or you move, it's blur fest. But that could be because I just have indoor shots. Wait as I step outside......

Yep. It just cranks down the shutter speed because it was dark. Outside in the sun, it's pretty darn good. At lest 15fps and there's no motion blur. The quality is pretty good.

As for the 10 second comment. My longest clip is only about 20 mins but that's more than 10 secs.

Once again, this is for the eBay pen I got and not this one.

I'd buy this pen and have it on my shirt while having sex then post it on fatwallet. . lol

What are you going to do with the other 3.99Gb of storage ?

hahhhaha good one. .

I don't see how it can be quite as bad as you say, since people are using them on their RC planes, and it doesn't look real bad for the price. Here's a video taken with one. Of course youtube makes it look worse.

Also, the ones that look like a car key remote (key fob cam) are supposed to be pretty good. And the ones that are the size of a pack of gum and popular, though there are quite a few reports of them going bad. I can find videos of them too.

Thanks

You're not understanding what I'm asking. You "got that one" because it was advertised as being 8GB. However, that doesn't necessarily mean anything. I've read more than one report of people buying "8GB" spy pens off eBay to only find out that they're not REALLY 8GB. The seller will TELL you that it's 8GB and Windows will even report it as 8GB but it's a scam, which you find out when you put 4GB on it and no more can go on. That's why I asked if you'd actually filled it with 8GB of data.

More info about similar flash memory scams (not necessarily spy pen related)

wonder if it writes lol

Can I find one that "works" for twice the price? I'd rather buy quality than throw away half my money.

Not even a week, purchased this pen from DealExtreme 3 months back and worked only one time before not turning on anymore. Doesn't even work as a usb thumb drive either. Tried to replace through DealExtreme and they wanted me to take it somewhere to get a quote to get it repaired. After I finished laughing I just wrote off the $22 and decided to never order from them again.

The 8G I bought from China would only record 8min immediately after taking out of charger, then needed LONG recharge afterwards.

n conjunction with Windows, when the pen is plugged into a standard 1.1 or higher USB drive, Windows will automatically detect it and install the drivers.

Windows is windows.

Spoken like someone who never used Windows 3.1.

Well, now that you mention it, I vaguely recall 3.1.
So I must correct myself a little.

And if you leave it stationary, say, on your desk, what good is it when someone steals your pen?
