Got a coupon during my last visit to Costco. If I bring a friend who signs up for a membership, we each get a $10 gift card. The coupon has a (manager?) signature. I'm not aware of them doing this before. Might be worth inquiring if you know someone who wants to join....or if you want to join and know someone who has a membership.
I thought this was policy all the time. When I signed up earlier this year, the lady that signed me up asked someone else that was at the counter if they wanted to "sponsor me" or something. She gave us both a gift card, it was at least $10. Customer service lady told me you can sign up two people a year and get the gift card. So you can just hover around the signup desk and find a couple noobs to make a few bucks
