Been going for a while.

I checked around and pretty much everyone is ticking to $6500 off MSRP which make it an OK deal. If there were any G3s left for around 9K that would be ok but those are pretty much gone.

it's $17,445 MSRP on the 2.4L
and another $1000 for automatic

what options are worth adding if one has the choice?
is it worth it to upgrade to 17 inch wheels?
cd stereo for $150, alarm $300?

i am really thinking about buying a vibe if i can find one.

solstice with 260hp turbo motor is hot.

I'm sure the 7k mentioned in this ad replaces the current $6500 incentives. Big woop!

The thing that sucks about this "fire sale" is that the dealers will have to move the vehicles to their service fleet first, which will make the vehicle "used" whether it has any miles on it or not. While that probably won't matter to most PEOPLE, it probably will matter to most BANKS, who typically charge higher interest rates on used vehicles. Just something to think about and investigate if you are thinking about jumping on this one...

Why would you want to finance through a bank when Pontiac/GM is offering 0% for 72months? If you don't "qualify" for their financing, you'll be paying higher interest from a bank regardless.

It's either the $6500 off or $1500 off plus 0% financing. Not both

Big props to anyone that comes on here and shows the actual deal that they get under the fire sale. I'm sure the deals will be good, but I would like to see what someone actually walks away with.

I did this in the summer (late July) as I needed a new commuter car. I found a new Pontiac G5 that gets over 30 mpg and had a sticker of just over $21,000. I bought it fully loaded for $12,000 which I also had a clunker to get rid of ($3500), its been a great car.

If this pricing is actually passed onto the consumer, then some great deals will be available if you have some negotiating skills. We'll see if the dealers get a bit greedy with this program.

Too bad the 2010 Pontiac Vibes are all gone. I purchased a Pontiac Vibe during the summer clearance for under $13K and it's the best Toyota Matrix, I mean Pontiac Vibe, I have ever owned. Would have been interested in grabbing another one at that price.

Yeah, I would have been interested in looking into a Vibe at a lower price point as well. They're good little cars.

Bummer, I was hoping for the Matrix. I didnt realize they only had the G3. But, honestly if you can get if for 9K then its one heck of a deal.

So whats the deal with the Saturns? Are they going to have a fire sale to? The Astra and Aura are pretty awesome.

This is a non event. Especially for the Pontiac line.

Analysts have doubts about whether consumers will see much added benefit from this dealer incentive program.

Says Edmunds.com senior analyst Jessica Caldwell: "This program is more hype than substance."

"That's what she said", retorts Michael Scott.

I bet the G8s are all gone.

I didn't buy my solstice in June with this particular combination of discounts but I bought a completely loaded (except no GXP turbo option) solstice with orig MSRP over $32k for $18,995. Then I cashed in GM card points to bring it under $15,000 final price. I don't know if any are still available but I love my solstice and I think its among the best looking cars on the road today. I can't get gas without people commenting on my car.

OK, here's the deal I got for my daughter last night:

Pontiac G3 5-speed w/power package (windows, locks w/keyless, mirrors)

$15,760 MSRP
- GM supplier discount for being a credit union member
= 15,345
+ 921 tax (6%)
- 6,500 rebate
+ 75 doc fee (was $599 before supplier discount)
+ 38 tag/title
+ 3 lemon law

$9882 OTD. Not too bad for a small car that's not a stripper. Has standard A/C, r/w defogger and wiper, nice 6-speaker stereo w/CD and MP3 jack, 1 year OnStar, etc.
Plus I'll get to deduct the sales tax from my 2009 taxes thanks to Obama stimulus, so take another $250 or so off for that.

Even though in theory you are getting a good deal now.... If you do not plan to drive the car 10 plus years please expect the value of the vehicle to plummet 40- 60 from your discounted deal.

Well yeah, but for less than 10k I can live with that. If it only lasts 5 years it was worth it.

I just stopped at the local stealership. They have a used '09 G6...and want...wait for it...$17,500. Since it's 'used', they won't do anything with the current Pontiac offers. I hope they choke on it...

There are not too many cars that do not depreciate the moment you drive them off the lot. They were never meant to be investments, they are transportation.

Great deal for a really nice car. Wish I could find one now at that price.

I think I read somewhere the dealer has to sell the car as used, so you may not be able to get the tax deduct.

I think there may be some new solstices around, and when dealers are desperate to sell they sometimes will ship a car to you or near you so you might look broadly. You can get some low mileage used solstices too. Again, I love my solstice, and knowing the price I paid makes it even better.

Its still a GM vehicle. Govmnt should have let them die, they still suck against most others.

I looked for a G3 and G5 today in Miami area and could not find any available. One dealer said if I came in and put down deposit, he could probably get one, but it sounded like bait and switch to me. Just wanted to get me in there. Did an internet search and could not find any in the whole country. Where are people finding them?

that's a great deal. I'm stopping by Saturn today to see if any Skys are available. I really never buy new cars, so I'm not sure where a Pontiac deal is by my house. I was looking at Skys on eBay, but this may be a better deal.

I bought the car new. Dealer was not willing to go through the hassle of selling it as used (and jumping through GM's hoops) to get the 7k discount - you get a 6500 rebate if it's new. Believe me, I asked more than once because I wanted 7k off but I'm not complaining about the deal I got.

Where did you get this deal?

BPG of South Atlanta, but they're sold out now. Very few Pontiacs left in all of ATL, in fact, and we might've gotten the last G3. When we picked up the car yesterday the salesperson said she had gotten 5 calls about it this morning.
