Carry surround sound quality wherever you go. This Portable Speaker System from Buy.com is $16.99 with free shipping. It's the cheapest price I could find by $33.

Been all over the web looking for info on these and no go. Anyone tried them? any info on what kind of batteries they take or how long they might be expected to last? I realize they are cheap but if they require htf batteries or are disposable I'll do without. TIA.
Sweet. I woke up this morning just back from a week in Hawaii, and I was looking for some decent small travel speakers. This fits the bill. Gotta get them, even though I usually avoid Buy.con. Thanks OP.

Thanks, OP. In for one. I've been looking for a decent set of battery powered "pure" travel speakers. Looks like these speakers don't come with (and maybe there doesn't even exist) an AC adaptor. In my case, I don't care much about an AC adaptor since these are for use with my IPOD at the beach, on a small boat, camping, etc. Besides, God made rechargeable AAA batteries, which in my view obviate the need for adaptors when travelling.
