Sam's Club (.com) has Dell UltraSharp 3007WFP-HC monitor for $999 shipped: Linky Yes, there's a 3008 that's probably better. Yes, Dell frequently has closeouts on these (as refurbs) for around $799.
pheta said: I haven't seen a refurb 3007 on Dell outlet in a long time. Am I just missing them? Can't answer your question but it does seem like Dell had a ton of these on their hands and decided to use third parties to move 'em. A fellow has "one" on fleabay, but his picture shows pallets of them in his warehouse. And good ol' Sam obviously scored a bunch. I'll bet a dime that Overstock has some. Coming soon to Woot.
One could guess Dell misjudged demand, ended up with lots of the old model when the new one became available, and to make matters worse found that some of their customers were convinced that the new model wasn't *that much* better than the old one. So dump the old ones through the outlet store (bet they were brand new) and when that demand dries up, out the back door to non-competitive sellers.
On the downside, I'll bet the warranty on these runs from date of manufacture. A painful thought since a 305T at work broke recently, fortunately within warranty. If it were mine and it wasn't in warranty, I'd sure cry.
i have a 6 month old 2709 i loved it, it went bad i hate dealing with Dell support as it's outside of united states. i will never buy another Dell product for this reason! my monitor went bad, it is not fun talking to people i another country trying to get something straightened out
