homer was right, I had an error in my original post and fixed it.
I've received Maxim free for about 5 years now (and I think I have a year or two left). Periodically, there are deals in the Free Stuff forums that offer it for free.

It's porn for people afraid to buy real porn! (I subscribed from issue 1, canceled after 4-5 years when it went way downhill--especially in the writing)
But it's nice to see magazines finally admitting nobody really wants to pay for them. With all the advertising, cheap/free subscriptions make sense.

the last thing anyone should expect from Maxim and others of its ilk is good writing. you just look at the pictures in the privacy of your bathroom and move on...
i've seen free subs for it, but not as many in recent months, as others have pointed out. $5 for a 1 year sub is a good deal, but with so many mags folding, i've been hesitant to renew any of the current mags i get. i'll get Maxim through year 2030 so i won't ever have to think about that.
thx OP. I also got 24 issues of Esquire for $9 ! Nice find.

Will this give me an extra year if I already have a subscription? Or is it through a different company and just give me 2 of the same issue? >.>a I think I went directly thru maxim?

Believe it or not, early on it was chock full of pretty clever and interesting articles (back when it was the only US "lad mag", to borrow the British term). There was no "Stuff" or FHM, etc. The editorial content almost mirrored the British version that engendered it, but that soon dropped off in favor of more pictures. Imagine that

Should add on to your current sub. This is an agency order, so i'm not 100% sure.

Word. I signed up for a free sub to Maxim back in 2003, and last I checked, my subscription will run out in late 2018.
Pretty crazy. I only recall signing up once, but I think as their other mags folded they converted them to maxim and tacked it on to the end of my sub.
To think I was a bachelor when I signed up, and when it finished, I'll have been married almost 15 years and I'll have a teenager daughter.

LOL. time sure flies by, doesn't it? if the mag is still around after 2030, i'll probably end up bequeathing my remaining subs to my son, as long as he's 16 by that time, of course.

TERRIBLE. I'm signed up with maxim $3 for 3 years. Just buy your subscription off of ebay. Thats just one example. I get all my magazine subscriptions off of eBay. No joke.
I can't get it here so I sent a subscription to my son at his UC Santa Barbara beach house.

I don't get this magazine. The women are not nude, are they? Why would anybody buy this when you can buy Playboy and get totally nude?

I followed up on this as I not only ordered it for $5, but work for the fulfillment company. This will add on to a current subscription as mine will now expire in 2012. Good deal for $5.

Why would you buy any magazines to look at nude women when you can find thousands for FREE on the Internet? Maxim has some interesting articles from time to time (the Yakuza one last month comes to mind), and the price I've paid ($0 for a sub from 2003-2012) is right.
