I love table and portable radios (and have lots of them). This is one weird, maybe THE weirdest looking portable radio I've seen. But very cool. And at a very good price. Thanks OP.
Been looking to get one of these (my mother in law scolds me for not having one). Wish it had USB charging like some of the other models (e.g., FR600). I wonder if one of the tips available is USB.

the manual refers to it as USB jack or something like that - so I'm guessing it wouldn't be too hard to mod a female usb cable if one isn't available.

I can't speak to this specific Eton crank radio, but I purchased one for half off from REI over the summer and the reception is absolutely terrible. Some of the reviews on Amazon for this radio talk about terrible reception as well.
Yes, the reception on pretty much all of these apocalyptic type radios is marginal. I guess if it ever gets to that point, there won't be radio many towers left to broadcast, thereby reducing adjacent channel interference and making it easier to pick up what's available. Or something like that. Anyway, at that point it's guns, ammunition, water, and food that would matter the most.
There's a charging jack on the FR1000, but you have to require a phone-specific adapter. I guess you could certainly get a mini-USB one, for example. But that'll only let you charge one phone. Not a big deal though. I'm holding out for a good deal on the the SolarLink FR600 (LINK).
