Not even sure why Korg would replace this model unless they found a way to make it cheaper. This thing does exactly what it's supposed to. I don't think I could recommend any tuner more than this one at it's list price. Hopefully they don't goof up the new model.
Strange, but I just received my package, and instead of the black Korg Chromatic Tuner CA-30, I received a white Korg CA-1. The description says it is the "New and Improved CA-30!". Does anyone know anything about these? Should I be mad, or glad (or maybe sad)? The CA-1 seems to be priced lower, but is it better or worse?
For nearly a decade, the Korg CA-30 Chromatic Tuner has stood among the top-selling tuners on the planet. Now meet the CA-1; offering the same excellent features with a new, enhanced design – all at a lower price!
Strangely, Korg has omitted web site specs for the CA-1, making a ready comparison of the two difficult. And I can't help but wonder what they did to make this new model cheaper.... I can imagine in their essence, though, the two models are probably comparable.

BrookMays said:The CA30 is now a discontinued product. The CA1 is the new model and the replacement of the CA1, as stated by Korg. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks and have a good day, Juan Thank you for your inquiry, The BrookMays.com Team
If they don't have the CA-30 to sell, what are they doing advertising it and taking people's money for it? This forced substitution has been going on for a while, yet even now their CA-30 offer stands. That's fraud in my book....

On their own website Brook Mays still shows the CA-30 as in stock. They list the CA-1 too.
What to do? Well, for those who aren't bothered by the substitution, I guess nothing. Personally, I would alert Amazon to the fact that they're playing unwitting host to a duplicitous seller.
I've also got an issue with Brook Mays. Several weeks back I ordered a Korg clip-on tuner mic from them, and they sent me a generic unbranded one--similar to the Korg, true, but not what they advertised and not what I paid for. They even had the audacity to affix a sticker to the product box and label it a Korg CM-100L. I sent Korg a picture, and they responded that it's not their product. I have twice emailed a protest to Brook Mays through Amazon's "contact seller" system, and they haven't acknowledged me. So I just submitted Brook Mays to the Reseller Ratings database. Once that suggested listing gets approval--it usually takes a couple of days--there'll be an open forum for comment on Brook Mays' service. And I will be contacting Amazon shortly about my own experience with this loose-jelly affiliate of theirs.
