I checked 2 targets in DFW area while looking for GE bulbs deal....and it is $99.98. I asked associate to double check the price and it was $99. lets wait couple more days. Might come down to $49.

did you get one? Any left? anyone know which one is better?
Nope, didn't get one. Tempted though. There were probably 3-4 of the 340. I'm really not sure which is better. I believe the difference between the models with "S" and no "S" is that the "S" versions say the street name in the spoken directions, whereas the basic version just says "turn left in 500 ft" or whatever. The 340 is also the XL version, so it is a wider display than the 140.

well, grabbed 2 at the Sun Prairie supercenter for $50 if you want the 140. And yes your comparison between the two is correct. I prefer the 140.
ST Louis 63144 store had a few, but priced at $149.99. They said they are the largest Target around the city, and are the last to drop prices on clearance items, usually 2-3 weeks behind others. Said to check other stores for better pricing, which I have not yet done.
No go at Taylor, Canton South, Woodhaven, Michigan

Anybody know their policy on price matching their own store regarding these clearance items? Just tried to do it and they wouldn't allow it. He said something along the lines of each story is different and pricing is based on inventory.
Target would not allow you to match the prices with other stores....

Great idea indeed, why didn't anyone think of that?
When you call, make sure you tell the Target clerk to notice how cheap this is. And you trust the clerk to hold one for you out of the goodness of his heart.

Good job. Calling to see if they have it in stock, on clearance, is a great idea.
I would suggest DON'T CALL. It will ruin the deal for yourself and other FWers. Just check the inventory online and go if it's available. Clearance item cannot be held at Target. So calling Target just let Target employee know what a great deal they have and get them for themselves. It may not happen to all the targets, but it certainly happens a lot at some targets.
