Keep in mind this is a 720p HDTV... the best deals today involve 1080p sets.

Not really. 1080p's that are decent cost vastly more. I see a 42" 1080p LCD that is 60 HZ for $500. At 60 Hz, sports are garbage, but are great in plasma even at 720p.

The blu-ray player goes for $140 all by itself on discount. That makes the TV cost only about $480. Then you get about another $50 worth of cables, etc. I figure that means you are getting the TV for $430.

Find me one 42" 1080p selling for that amount with 120 Hz (to be equivalent to plasma). I know you cannot find a 1080p plasma anywhere in the neighborhood.

Note this was also posted to another deal site and is already a four out of five star deal.

Could someone please explain to me why this isn't a great deal? A 1080p would cost much more. And this is a very nice blue ray player. Just puzzled by the response. I still don't see a better package deal on a TV. Maybe the WalMart 60 Hz for $500 without a blue ray player. But if you want plasma, that won't cut it. Input appreciated.
