I bought the Spikes Tactical conversion from then a while back. While I havent used the CMG version I've heard good things about it, and Palmetto State Armory is a good place to do business with.
Firing cheap .22s out of your AR is alot of fun especially since it doesnt hurt your wallet so much.
I'm asking sincerely, not being smart, but what is the benefit or draw of firing .22 LR through your AR when you could just buy a .22 for about the same money and shoot that? I understand it's cheaper. In fact I have both rifles, and when I want to shoot cheap, I just grab the remington 22.
I specifically bought the AR because it's a much more powerful cartridge and more accurate at long ranges.
AR's are at least $700, so I don't exactly get the "I can't afford the ammo" statements.

The standard justification is that some people want to train with the same gun but admittedly that's a small percentage and the effectiveness of that is debateable. And I suppose that by the time that you count that a decent .22 is going to be more, adding optics to a second gun, various accessories, transfer fees, etc., you could argue that the cost for a second gun actually is quite a bit higher. Also, some other benefits as far as added flexibility in a single gun independent of having any others, not having to haul another gun to the range, safe space, etc. You can burn through a lot more than the $700 cost of the gun in ammo pretty quick so assuming that you want to shoot your AR versus another gun then it does make some sense in that respect. Being realistic about it, there's not necessarily nor does there need to be an economic justification made and mostly it's just because people like shooting their ARs and they wanna. I only have about 12 .22s of various types, no good reason not to have another.
Anyone have problems with cycling when using Federal or Remington 550 brick ammo with these conversion kits? I'm debating getting a conversion vs dedicated .22 M4 style from S&W. Right now I'm leaning towards conversion kit.
