I was at Home Depot again today. They had moved clearance around all over the place. I saw this system pushed into the back corner of the lighting clearance. It had been steadily marked down over the past few months but I kept hoping it would get cheap enough to get for my youth center. I brought it up front it scanned .01 The clerk could not sell it for that she said and got management. He gave it to me for the youth center.
Lorex Quad Observation System 14" Black and White Monitor with four weather resistant cameras. Remote control Night Vision
Model number SG1402144C-A
Clerk found it in the system for 477.00 She saw one other store that had it in stock nearby but had not clearanced it yet. She did not say which store. There is no Sku on the box. In this case honesty was the best policy. Hooray! This was the Rogers Arkansas store. Thank you Home Depot!! Good Luck!!
Not a Price Mistake, when it's 1 cent, it's code for staff member to remove from stock, I believe either for returning to the manufacturer or to destroy and throw out.
Thats awesome to have someone else on here with a youth center. We serve youth 5-18 in Rural NW Arkansas. Most of our kids are from Service Industry Families and very low income/ transient.

Where are you?
No offense, but I think that was a joke...
Umm, I think the poster was referring to OP's post ... he/she got the camera for the his/her youth center. This post:

I'm gonna take a guess and say the OP's center is located in Eureka, CA ... considering his/her fw name.

HAHAHAHA! Wow. No, I guess I'm saying I need to wear glasses while I'm on the computer. Or I'm getting senile.
When someone starts a senior center, put my name first on the list.

I wonder if Home Depot will give it for me free too if I started that senior center.
I dunno, they seem eager to invest in our future, one wonders why society doesn't invest more in our past. Instead they get put out to pasture in retirement homes or hospices where they just wait to die. It's sad really. You'd sympathize if you've visited one before.

You start out "I dunno". Actually, there are a few very well run retirement homes, also known as nursing homes, that are well run. A lot of places people just vegitate at, but some defy the depression and boredom with well run programs and pleasant surroundings. They do, but shouldn't really, cost more than the typical medicaid money sucking places. I can only hope it's a trend that will continue for when it's my turn.
I don't have Schizophrenia and I am in Eureka Springs Arkansas. Also, Seniors actually have a great many programs and opportunities. Senior subisdized housing, Federally funded Senior Centers, Meals on Wheels etc. I happen to know because I serve on the board of an organization that has 5 Senior Centers.
As far as the other person joking......... Humor is a good thing. I thought he was joking, however I never miss an opportunity to speak to someone working in the non prof world. EVER.
OP, Can you double check the UPC it looks like the little numbers at the beginning and end are missing. It should be 12 digits. The first on is very often a 0 and the last one is a check digit, so it is probably 078597214407 - but I would like to be sure. Either way, it doesn't look complete.
FYI - Thanks for the post. And you seem to really care (not just about deals!). Keep it up.

Just a little FYI...
The first little digit is the industry, 7 in this case... or at least that's a good guess.
The next group of five (78597) are the manufacturer's ID (each manufactuerer should be registered for one per industry group)
The next group of five (21440) are the manufacturer's item number (a SKU unique to that item) Each manufacturer would be allowed 99,999 items for them to use. And in this case it matches the last 5 digits of the manufactuer's item #SG14021440C-A
The last digit is a checksum... so in this case it's 6. [WHoops... recalcuated, the orginal calc got me a 2, but I think it's 6!]
